Well my brother and i installed the Walbro 255 fuel pump and after putting everything back together, i get a low fuel light. I was close to the E when we installed it so i figured it might need a little gas. SO i put 3 gallons to see if that would work. But no its still on E and the light is on. THe gauge is flashing telling me how miles i have left till my fuel runs out. OTher than that i can hear the gas flowing from the fuel pump, so i know its at least working. WHat is going on here. Please help.
i had this happen...
seems like the float is caught on the tube inside the tank. this basically means the float cannot raise up, and show you have more gas.
if this is the case, you need to take it all out again, and make sure the tube is not interfering with the float movement.

My car sat at Nissan for 2 weeks while they tried to figure this one out (they replaced my tank because the stereo store drilled holes in it, long story). After replacing sensors and control unit (in the dash) they figured out that the floats were hitting the sides, the Nissan mechanic had replaced the assembly crooked...

Well problem fixed. It turns out that it was that black tube holding the float down. Filled it up with gas and the needle is at F. ANyways, is the fuel pump supposed to be that loud? I can hear it more than i did with the stock fuel pump.
I'd say its about twice as loud...keeping in mind that the stocker was barely audible to me. Not irritating at all...just more noticable...especially with the radio off and the windows up.
