Default GReddy E-Manage software update 1.39

http://www.mohdparts.com/emanage/pc/....39/index.html

I think you have to use the Support Tool to flash it to the emanage unit. GQ, Give it a try! Mohd just sent me the link today, he said this version has better support for the 350z. Woo Hoo!

I'll have to call GodSpeed and see if they can flash it for me. Or find a support tool cable.

Yeah, you need the Greddy Support tool and cable to flash it. Honestly, I dont wanna fix what isnt broken. Not sure what "better support" means. Usually, it just adds features, such as more MAF sensors, cars, etc..etc...

But the standard features and capabilities are unchanged. Do you have a list of what the new version is adding?

Here's what it says...

E-Manage Firmware v1.39 upgrade information
Cylinder displacement information has been added as a link data item.
Additional AFM types:
(Switches 1 - 2 - 3 settings)
7 - 0 - B ····Z33(Fairlady Z) <---------YAHOO!!!!
2 - 0 - C ····K11(March)
4 - 4 - 3 ····K12(March)
4 - 6 - 4 ····BP5(Legacy)
*- 8 - 0 ····Mitsubishi PR
*- A - 2 ····SE3P(RX8),GG3S(Attenza)
3 - A - 3 ····NA8C(Roadster)
Due to instability among Karmann type AFM vehicles, an averaging method is now used.

Looks like it has specific Z33 info now. MAN I want one BAD!

But the switches can be set manually to support our ECU, so I'm not sure what this switch setting will actually do. Now, if it keeps people from burning coils....I'll download it today!

Oh, ETX, by the way, Wild350Z is running version 1.39. He drove his car down to Greddy's headquarters and Kenji hooked him up with all the lastest drivers, and the base maps.

Flashing the eManage unit right now. For those worried about leaving the car in the ON postition with the timing harness, the eManage will not update if it detects RPMs...

Update was painless, and the coils are OK

Going for a quick blast to watch A/F and such. I'm still on 7-0-1 which is what the unit is preconfigured at, not the new 7-0-B.

Mohd said I should update. It may not be a big change, but it couldn't hurt.

I can think of a few things I wish they would add to the software. One being a studder box function, that would be so much fun on a Z!

edit: Hey Derek, Does the e-manage loose its settings after you update it.

I wonder if once you flash the eManage with the new 1.39 system, if you should change to 7-0-B since that is specifically for the Z33? I don't yet have an eManage, but I am just tyring to make sure that I get mine set correctly when I do (hopefully in the next couple weeks).

Nope, everything is still there, and I verified the version number (1.39) with the E-01.

Car runs fine, A/F climbed to 11.5 in a 3rd gear run at almost 6lb boost.

I flipped the rotary switches over to 7-0-B

The idle seems a lot rougher than before. Taking another quick drive to see how it runs.

Whoa, no test drive. Don't switch to 7-0-B yet...

Be back in a sec.

OK, before taking it for a ride, I wanted to check my maps. Good thing I did.

The BOOST LIMITER CUT map is the same.

Both the IGNITION MAP and the ADD INJECTOR MAP were no longer AIRFLOW METER HOTWIRE (V), but defaulted to Karman Vortex (Hz) with all values down the left column at zero. Other options are:

GReddy Sensor (V) : 0.5 -> 3.5 in 0.2 increments
Relative PR (kPa) : -100 -> 200 in increments of 20
Relative PR (kg/cm2) : -1.02 -> 2.04 in ~0.2 increments
Relative PR (mmHG) : -750 -> 1500 in increments of 150

AIRFLOW METER HOTWIRE was no longer an option.

The jumpers shouldn't have to change (JP1, JP2, JP3, JP7 - closed : JP4, JP5, JP6 - open).

Does the z33 have a Karman Vortex type meter like Lexus?

As for the rotary switches,
1 = Number of cylinder selector
2 = Air-flow Type Selector
3 = Air-flow Type Selector

I'm back to 7-0-1 and the maps are correct again.

Default Non-F/I

derek_i,

Would the default settings for the new 7-0-B work for N/A Z's?

Chris, you wont have to worry about coil burning, since with N/A, you arent going to use the ignition harness...so no worries.

Guys, a version update is fine..but the rotary dials are set for the particular parameters of the vehicle..so I wouldnt touch them...personally.

You are absolutely right. From GReddy:
7 - 0 - B ····Z33(Fairlady Z)

Chris,
The 7 - 0 - 1 would work fine, but so should 7 - 0 - B, I just need to figure out what needs to be done differently. Maybe its basing the maps on GReddy's pressure sensor instead of the stock air-flow meter and voltage clamp hack.

I'm guessing 7 - 0 - 1 is for N/A or boosted relying on stock MAF, and 7 - 0 - B is for pressure sensor. I might disconnect the pressure sensor harness from the eManage and see if it gives me the MAF option again (maybe its smart enought to detect the harness and switch to pressure measurements).

Derek, thanks for doing some more digging.

I dont have immediate plans to use the MAP sensor to run fuel enrichment and timing.
