I like the look of the Stillen hood on a Z. I keep reading how people think it looks ugly, when most haven't seen it. It looks good and fits the car.

2003z's car is a good example. I also like the fact that the Stillen kit is carb legal, comes with a warrently, easiest to install, upgradeable, no tuning needed, had best low end torque & hp, and best of all it has no blown engines and least problems of any of the other setups. Also , the fact that Stillen has been working with Nissan for over 17yrs is a plus to me.

That's cool. Just that a lot of people knock it without seeing it. If you like the sleeper look, you would love bini2's car. its totally stock looking, right down to the factory wheels, but packing the greddytt plus lots of other underhood mods.

Can anyone point me in the right direction in getting teh HKS or Greddy gauges for this setup?

Also, i picked up my greddy front bumper last night. ITS GOT he mesh grille's in the middle and on the sides, think i should take them off and show the intercooler, or leave them on and hide the intercooler?

I agree 100% with the hood part. Its either you love it or hate it. I personally think it has to do with the color of the car. I didnt it like it on the Twilight blue(my color), so i opted for the carbon fiber instead.

Oh yeah, and i have a G35 5AT. Dont think i added that anywhere thus far.

you could probably get a custom hood made which would fit the stillen for additional money.

http://www.zfilms.org/SportZMag/

Sport Z has downloadable clips of all 3. the stillen is fairly representative of how mine sounds. In the car, I don't really hear the borla exhaust, just a very satisfying mechanical whine.

I like the stillen more because it has such great power everywhere. The Vortech makes most of its power up top, right when you're about to SHIFT_ so it doesn't make much sense to me.

I have a stage two stillen and after 2200 miles it has trouble
with the idler arm and the sc belt. I also got the headers, radom
cats, cold air box and the stillen exhaust. 271 hp at the wheels.
Not worth the $ 17,000 cdn. Its a 5 At. Some days it runs great
and other days it runs bad. Exhaust bangs on frame when you
get the radom cats. Sounds great when it runs good. Recently
beat a new M3 by 1 1/2 car llengths. Great race he went for it
and got the shock of his life.

damn 271 is low. Did stillen sell you the headers. They told me no headers or test pipes. They cost the car about 30hp, as I found out when I took my test pipes off. I haven't had any of those problems, knock on wood.

I bought everything from the stillen dealer in Canada. I have a feeling that the radom cats are making the car run rich. A/f
is 10.75 at 6500 rpm. Nobody told me that the car would losepower if I added the headers and the cats. Who did you
talk to at stillen ? It was very expensive to have the headers
installed. If I remove the cats and the headers how much power
so you think I would gain?

I talked to Stillen. However, since you are running rich, that would seem to not be your problem. Test pipes caused mine to run lean. I suggest you contact Stillen, and NOT anyone in the sales department.

10.75 is pretty rich... that's probably costing you some power right there. And I can't think of any good reason not to use headers or test pipes, assuming you tune the car to accomodate the extra air flow.

Well you can't really tune the stillen on your own. I imagine technosquare could make some tweaks if they had your car on their dyno, but stillens stand-alone is a DFW system. What I was told, was too low restriction in the exhaust will cause the boost to 'blow by' (I don't remember exactly how it was worded, but something to that effect.) with my 7lb pulley and test pipes, their system was only sensing 6lbs of boost, and fueling accordingly. Thats why I was lean. How he could be rich is something he really should take up with stillen, and not leave as is.

Thanks for the information. I recenltly put on the stillen cold
air intake and removed the AEM. My dealer will be changing
the mas air flow sensor on Tuesday and I will dyno the car
some time this week. What size of tires and who's make are
they when you take your car to the drag strip.

With the headers and high flow cats, you do loose boost and run lean.Stillen said they can re-calibrate the piggy-back system in about an hour.I just wonder if I'll have more power than I do now.
370 to the wheels is good enough for me!
