ATI Stillen Vortech
what is the poll going to accomplish? LOL.....look at the choices....nothing can be gleaned from this.... You need some other choices...such as "I have the ATI kit but I think it's not the best"....and "I have the Vortech kit, but I think it's not the best".

well I wanted to consolidate the opinions, there are a million ways to do this. I wanted to know the positive opinions to help decide which one to get. Rather than having people diss products, which doesn't help in my decision, I wanted to know what products are good. And also I set up the poll to see which suggestions are from current users

Stillen's hood is a taste thing. It is the reason I don't have one, but I still like the overall kit the best. It does not have the highest peak hp, but like jawbone said, the torque curve is incredible. If you see its' dyno sheet, you'll be impressed. I also like that the kit is safe and reliable, CARB certified, simple to install (you don't have to tune it continuously), and upgradeable. Stillen has continued to come out with new stages, and it looks like they are continuing to. Although, that's just my opinion. Any kit is great for power and fun. It just depends on what you are looking for. The Vortech and ATI have good peak hp but you have to be in the top of your RPM's to see any boost. You have boost from the get go with Stillen, but you can't go wrong. I hope this helps.
Killa - Like Watson says, the hood's a personal choice. In fact, it reminds me of my old cowl induction hood on my Z28 - great memories!!
Besides, Stillen is working on another design that won't have that "second" clearance hump ( which, IMHO, is the biggest complaint I've heard ).
I personally spend most of my driving in the 2k - 5k rpm range & that's where a positive displacement blower like the Roots system Stillen sells shines. The torque's always there w/o downshifting. Granted, it's not as expandable or powerful as a T/T setup but for those of us who've already installed headers and/or want a DIY install, Stillen is hard to beat. BTW - I haven't ordered my S/C yet but plans are to do so early this winter. By then, I might be considering the new HKS S/C offering.
The last upside to the Stillen kit is that I haven't heard that many problems coming from it. Living down south & where there aren't any serious aftermarket tuning facilities ( that I'm aware of ), I need reliability. How many ProCharged engines have blown? Vortech's excellent but I just prefer the usable torque of the Roots blower.
I'm just next door in Louisiana & need to get over to one of ya'lls next DFW meets. I came over to this site with Marcus ( TXSTYLE ) from ClubLexus.

The vortech kit is the cheapest kit and that is why there are so many of them out there. (kind of like base model Z's) Not that this is a bad thing but when viewing a poll this should be kept in mind. It does offer a nice timing control option but is not as good as a flashed ecu. Plus if you plan on boosting more than 8 PSI you will need to upgrade your kit. And you will need to tap the oil pan to even run the kit.
The stillen kit reqires a hood and produces little power and heats up quickly. Goodluck boosting 9PSI without pinging or detonation. It has instant boost which is nice but the amount of boost/power is less than competetive when comparing it to vortech or ATI kits.
Obviously I chose the ATI kit. With an ecu flash and injectors, this kit can not be beat by any other supercharger on the market. That is why most of the popular/famous Z's have this kit installed...

Saying that an ATI kit with an ECU reflash and additional injectors (to provide better fuel management and some form of timing retard) is the best is like saying "if your girlfriend had a boob job and lost 30 pounds she'd be in shape".
The ATI compressor might have advantages over the Vortech compressor (if you want to go above 9psi and don't mind the extra noise), but the actual KIT itself is weak.

I like and am planning on the Stillen Stage 2, can't argue with that 3 year/36,000 mile warranty.
The heat issues/underpowerment seemed to dissapear with the introduction of their intercooler.
I like the hood buldge, so I don't have any problems there.
Then after 3 years, I'll buy those bigger pulleys.
