Default Oil consumption/ bad Dyno #'s and low compression on left side

Is there a single common point for the oil that feeds that one side of the engine? And if so could it possibly be partially blocked preventing sufficient oil from getting to those cylinders and whatever oil does get up there its burned off due to ring wear which developed after so many miles of sub lubrication.

Does this make any sense. Trying to find a logical explaination for what has been described.

Dustin.
Take it to the other dealership, I don't feel you would be cheating anyone....that's my opinion.

Default Geez what a ****-off!!

natve4ply,

I'm truly sorry about your engine. you have my sympathies. I am looking at the Vortech tuner kit, but news like this gives me pause.

What are chances that you had this issue before the Vortech. What has Vortech said about it? Is this an install issue. Did your "butt dyno" notice a decline in performance over time? ANy chance your Z had some issues before the install?

Sorry to berage you with questions - just trying to understand how this could have happened!

None of us deserves that **** man. I wish these kits could be a little more reliable....

Damn dude I am so sorry. I'm glad you at least found out before it seized or complete failed on you. That truly sucks. Now we just need to find out what caused this. I expected ONE cylinder to be losing compression not ALL THREE. Maybe it is a blown head gasket. only one way to find out. Take it to a shop you would have swap/build your motor and have them start with that. See if they can just check/replace the headgasket and see what happens. God dude I really feel for you.

pretty sure that the issue came up after the install, there were no signs that the engine had any problems with the performance at all. before the s/c i had AEM intake, 5zigen exhaust, and the HOOK UP for no2. i ONLY used it 2 time at the end of last year, a 50 shot mind you, it was more for show (show car all last year) Of course vortech wasn't as much help as i wanted when i told them that one of their sponsor cars can't run, vortech istalled it for the nopi steet mag issue on the s/c tech install. (seen in june/july) They are talking to each other to see what could happen but its very unlikely that they will compensate any for a fix. IF for some reason there was a problem with the car before the kit, the car hid it very well.

Man as ironic as life is, it sucks that this had to happen while i'm up in oregon instead of so cal. I know a lot of places that i could trust to get it checked out, and fixed. still trying to make nice with some people up here to find just the right place to go, without the long drive. i will have to wait and see, god bless having the beater!

I wonder if the head studs have stretched out and that head is lifting. It's just too strange that only that bank of cylinders is affected.
