Default Using Marine Deck Mount Gauge Pods

OK I know this sounds crazy, but I actually ordered three of these from a marine parts supplier.

They are used to add gauges to a boat! I figure I can find someone to fashion a stepped fiberglass "Shelf" for the center console, lose the useless door, and place three at the right tilt towards the driver's seat.

They are supposed to fit 2 1/16" - 52MM gauges. They are also available in black or a brushed silver finish. They run around $40 each.

Anyways, trying to offer some food for thought, alternatives, etc. I hate pillar pods and the other options I've seen so far just ain't doin' it for me.

Comments?? Suggestions??

They stick out too far IMO. I think if you pushed them back some and cut the fronts to be the same angle as the OEM gauges it would look great. Good luck on the great idea. I look forward to the finished pics.

I personally really like the "stick-out" look to them, and it places the gauges right in my peripheral view...making them very easy to read.

But hey - To each his/her own....
