Question VDC and FI cars?

Since running lean is death to FI motors, do you have to turn off the VDC all the time.

The VDC cuts fuel when it detects slip, so wouldn't this cause a super lean condition?

Yes the TCS system cuts fuel but it is not for a long enough period to cause damage. You would have to be lean for longer than the second that the TCS is working. I normally keep mine of anyhow. Tire spin is a major problem now so the thing would be kicking in constantly.

The VDC cuts throttle, not fuel. I was worried about this too, but when it comes on, it actually reduces air and fuel... so your A/F ratio should remain safe.
