Labor costs are anyone's guess...they could be all across the board. My guess is between $2000-$4000, depending on what you would like done. Engine building is very much an art-form, so I wouldn't just take it to a normal tuner shop. Would have to be someone with great experience doing engine building...not necessarily tuning.

Maybe we can ask Eric at Street Image to do a "group buy" on engine building for us. If I was on SoCal, I would recommend him..since he's done many a bottom-end rebuild.

Okay,

I'm in like flint!!

I am still not sure if I want to stay at stock compression or go down to 9.5:1. I cannot imagine why I would want to go lower than this, but I am open to suggestions. Detonation is my biggest fear.

Default Bore

Any idea as to how "far" you can safely overbore the OEM sleeves? I was assumegin .02 since SGP sell taht way , but maybe more is possible without seriously degradeing strength.

.02 is pretty common....I dont think we really know for sure how strong those stock sleeves are.

Count me in too If we you can get the price down to $1600 maybe you can get down to $1,500. Now that would be a deal.

Ok, looks like there is sufficient demand for a group buy. I will contact Arias and Pauter on Monday and try to firm up a better price. I'll also be working on the logistics of order processing and the like.

Once I complete that, I will post an official group buy in the proper section of this forum.

And if anyone else is interested, just go ahead and add your name to the list.

Seriously, I was thinking the same thing. Are there any manufacturers that make stronger half shafts for the rear? Are there also any stronger gear sets? I know OS Giken makes stronger gear sets, but I don't know if they've released any for the Z33...

Hmm, I got my car March 03, but I was on zcar.com for a while and then went to 350zforum. I didn't post much, maybe like 100 posts. What are you talking about?

Sooner or later, you guys will be putting in Ford 9 inchers, lol

Any last minute takers? I am firming up the price..but lets just say it looks even better than I thought. I should have the formal group buy posted in the group-buy section by later tonight, with details on how the payment and logistics process will work.
