internal buildup questions
about to join the GB for the internals, ive got a shop wanting to do the install, batlground in atlanta, the plan is to do the rods/pistons, some porting/polishing of the heads, maybe some custom valves, but heres the deal, if i plan on staying with the vortech, and maybe going up on the boost a little bit, maybe 10-11 psi, what CR should i go with, something like 9.5:1? I know with 8.5:1 ill lose some power. ill probably go with stock bore.
oh yeah, who makes the thicker head gasket for our engines? if i cant go up any more on the vortech, i might just go with a 100 shot, since the motor will be built.
OR. ive talked with dollar99 about the plans and he suggests since the motor will be built and balanced, could i raise the limit to 8k rpms, and use a TD reflash? any ideas? what do you think the vortech will do with the 9 or 10lb setup at 8k?
