yes we do have a forged bottom end, and i did think that went without mentioning. we have been posting updates about this car for many months now so i didn't think i had to repost everything that i've already said in previos posts. but we are running forged internals and nismo cams.

clutch is tilton 7.25" triple disc metallic on custom flywheel by unorthodox. weighs 15 pounds complete. that's with clutch fully assembled on flywheel.

and yes we have our work cut out for us but we are nearly there believe it or not. just because we don't post everything we do doesn't mean we haven't been working on it. look for some new developments coming soon.

stock bottom-end w/ PE kit tuned by XS 320rwhp 346lbs torque @ 7 lbs .. What am i doing wrong? I think its the gremlin throttle body. Can you please tell me if the gremlin makes the car sputter at 4k-5k rpms 3rd 4th & 5th gear? Also are you guys using PE's manifolds? And if so have you had any problems (such as cracking or leaks)I was hoping to hit 320-350rwhp at stock boost.Im thinking of going the SGP bottom-end/drivetrain route and putting some serious power down , But first things first.

About that tilton clutch set up you mention, do you recommend it for the drag strip? I thought the lightened flywheel would cause too much wheel spin. Especially since you mentioned using street tire setup.

This is taken from the ATS website

"A heavier flywheel is offered as an option for several ATS carbon clutches. A heavier flywheel (1) makes the drag launch or the start on a slope easier (2) reduces the engine harmonics vibration / noise significantly. However, please note that engine pick up speed goes down."

Yes, I agree and that is why I'm asking the question about wheel spin. I am sure that's a problem when you're trying to harness 587rwhp! Just wondering if they would recommend it or if they have any other future plans in the works.

Bluefish- I'm new to list. You guy have Great set-up. I will surely be following the your progress. 7's should be in the near future? What trans are you guys running right now? Stock 6spd, built Nissian Auto, or aftermarket Auto? Way to represent the VQ!

Found this at Motoring. But had to add to it that he is actually still running a VQ35 in there. Make sure to watch till the end of the vid. Its crazy! His best time I believe is:

R/T .218
60 foot 1.393
330 3.794
1/8 5.703
MPH 132.87
1000 7.304
1/4 8.640
MPH 169.38

Here a a snippet form an article on it:
The Performance Motorsport Nissan 350Z is a pro rear wheel beast, fueled by a 3.5L Twin Turbocharged 350Z engine spitting out more than 1700 Horse Power at speeds in excess of 200 miles an hour. Sport Compact drag racing fans and automotive enthusiasts will be blown away by this new entry into the class.

The 350 relies on a beefed-up version of the mighty VQ35DE powerplant for motivation. Outfitted with JE forged pistons and Carillo rods, the 3.5L had its compression dropped to 10.3:1 in order to allow higher boost levels; and its rev limit raised to 8,000rpm to help keep the boost pressurized throughout the curve. A Nismo R-Tune camshaft, valve job and mild porting of the exhaust ports by Headgames are also features of this build-up.

Last year, the car was set up with two different nitrous setups – a 300 shot and 375 shot that helped the team go through two engine blocks. This season, however, reliability issues prompted them to switch over to a Power Enterprise twin turbo system, which features a PE exhaust manifold, 2.25-inch down-pipe and modified air-to-water PE intercooler. The wastegate is internal, but the HKS blow-off valve is not.
A large 75mm Accufab throttle body translates the air into additional power with high-flowing Bosch Motorsport injectors transporting loads of additional fuel from an ATL 15 gallon fuel cell. A 240gph Weldon fuel pump and Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator and filter help out with the task.

Engine management duties are performed by a MoTeC M880 system that gives control over the fuel and ignition as well as closed loop wideband oxygen control and datalogging for a number of inputs. Before Ioannou, who knows MoTeC systems like the back of his hand, came on board, the team found tuning a challenge.
“We feel we’re doing pretty good considering we’re the only ones running this V6 right now,” defended Rubio.

Drivetrain upgrades consist of a custom made Unorthodox Racing five pound aluminum flywheel that works in conjunction with a Tilton multi-plate metallic clutch and the factory 6-speed. A Nismo LSD with a Nismo finned differential cover helps distribute the power equally to the rear wheels.
Tein Flex coilovers all around provide ample adjustability for fine tweaks on race days thanks to the EDFC system. Weld 15x9-inch aluminum rims house BFGoodrich 275/50/15 drag radials on the rear axles while the fronts are 15x3.5-inch skinnies with 26x5-15 Mickey Thompson front runners. BFGoodrich came on board as a sponsor in June.

The car belongs to Performance Motorsports in LI NY aka Smithstown Nissan and is driven by Andrew Rubio. The car runs 350Z motor built up to the hilt with a Twin turbo set up. It WAS sporting the Power Enterprise kit and maxed out at 10.3's....The guys then hired Vinny Ten to work their engine and replaced the PE's with Turbonetics turbos and in two weeks went to the 8's!!! Its a FULL standalone ECM unit. The times you say were 1/4 mile times. And for all you Tib guys, there is no skyline engine in it..I always get annoyed how people look up to the Skyline as the HOLY GRAIL of import engines..The VQ is the next big thing in the import revolution, and has much more displacement than the Skline motor. The block Perfomance is running on their PRO-Drag car should be capable of 2000 HP!!
