Keeping my 75k warranty W/Vortech installed
I take my wife to dinner at chees cake factory and she tells me theres no way in hell she is gonna let me Have a Sportbike( Suzuki GSXR 750) So I tell her Im getting my vortech SC. So I get the ok but im wondering about my extended warranty. If I get my JWT spacer and use it for my oil return and somthing goes wrong, I can just remove the SC system and dealer shouldnt know there was any tampering? I need other ideas is the dealer gonna get nosey and check the CPU and see where the SS box is wired, can I just use a high capacity fuel pump and put the FMU in a stealth place. Please any Ideas of how I can keep my warranty if somthing goes south during my vortech venture. And before you badmouth my wife about not letting me have a bike I must say the Z was a gift from her so I cant complain and she did pay for dinner......lol.........please help I any and all Ideas of how I can pull this off cause if somthing blows Im SOL
Biggest problem is hiding all the soldering for the SS - You may have to invest in a new harness if you want to remove all signs of the Vortech......
....That's only if you need to claim something significant under the warranty.
Is your dealership "mod-friendly"? The dealership I bought from was not - they would whine about a K&N filter being installed, so I now go to another dealer to get all my servicing done - The Service Manager is pretty cool - he will honor a warranty claim unless the problem is likely due to a mod.
Hope this helps....

I'd like to see some thoughts on this question as well.... I should be installing the Vortech kit within a few weeks' time, and was semi-concerned about tapping the oil pan....what exactly are you talking about when you say tapping the JWT spacer?

You could possibly use the Power Enterprse oil pan, not sure if it would work right or not.
I highly doubt that the dealer would check the wire harness in the event of motor failure.
You cant use the JWT spacer because the return line needs to be above the oils "sea level" for it to work correctly.
The dealer would have to prove that the failure came from the SC...
If you have the car professionally tuned you shouldnt have an issue.

POsted by daddyz:Yes,it's above the oil supply. With the spacer you will get a small spacer for the oil pick-up (you can see it on the JWT site) You will need to extend the drain line for the supercharger. Just use the tap they sent you in the Vortech kit and your set. I bought my kit used from fluidz he sent me everything but that tap. It was hard to find. Using this set-up is awsome and it's easy plus you have the added bonus of an extra quart of oil! (more volume equals less heat) Good-luck Jayson

This topic was debated in great detail some time ago. What was determined was the JWT would work if it had pipeing (like the one in their unreleased turbo kit) that is inside the pan that brought the return above the oil pans sea level. I spoke with JWT about their spacer for the turbo kit and it wasnt available.
Did you have a custom one made?
Vortech told me and others posted that just taping that spacer would result in poor oil flow and possible supercharger/engine damage.
Vortech taps the pan in a location that allows the oil to return to the pan without restriction aka above sea level...
