Which BOV? If its the Greddy typeS, once you losen the jam nut, the bolt turns pretty freely.

If the nut is too loose, your BOV will be super loud..not soft...and may leak boost, or introduce unfiltered air into the system at idle. I like tightening up mine as much as possible, while still eliminating compressor surge. Give it a try and let us know.
