Default upgrading vortech boost

Hey guys, i was looking to up my boost for my vortech and was wondering what the best pulley to upgrade to was? Im looking at the 2.87 pulley and wanted to know if anyone had any problems running it? Vortech says you need a "retainer assembly" to install the pulley too, what is that? any info on raising boost on these vortechs would be helpful...Thanks!

They never told me about a retainer assembly . I tried the 2.87 and it chewed up the assembly sticking thru the bracket . Look for a post called ...Vortech 2.87 pulley not right.....you can see pics of what happened to it . If they have a fix....great .If you go with it let us know . Im going to make my mined up with in the next week , if I go with the 2.87 or not . Esemes is the only one I know that had it on his car and he sold his SC before he had it tuned.....Bill

I wouldn't recommend the 2.87 pulley. The 3.12 jack pulley would work just fine to get boost up to 9psi, as would the 34-tooth cog pulley.

Ya...I dont think Vortech is going to help much . After I tune again Tuesday , im going to make my mind up on it . I got the pulley milled and I might have to take a little more off the Jackshaft assembly to get it to work .Would have to pull more timing out up top too

ok thanks, i think i might go with the 3.12 pulley since no one is really having problems with that. But whats with the retainer assembly vortech is talking about to install it???
