im working on being able to afford it...

its cooling system is most effeciant out of all of them so far... it pulls harder then the other superchargers... and sounds like a turbo spooling more than a jet engine infront of you doing nothing...

Harder down low than the Stillen? Mmm, only an addition of 80hp with the HKS and it pulls harder? Is the torque peak at a lower rpm than the other SCs?

Iam still deciding myself between a TT kit or a SC. Iam pretty sure iam gonna go with a SC though, if i do it wont be a HKS, it will either be a Vortech or a ATI Procharger, so far they have had the best results. Heres a dyno of the ATI Procharger.

Default It's really not overpriced when you think about what you're getting.....

Even at retail of $7k +$1k install (and I doubt you'll have to pay full retail). You literally need to do nothing else to the car. The power is probably just at the limits of the stock clutch even. It is completely tuned and designed for a safe power level. HKS is a top notch company with very good customer support. To go with more power than this, and still have any kind of safety margin, I really believe you need to upgrade the engine internals. Given that, more power is going to cost significantly more money even if the kits are slightly cheaper. Look at it this way....for about $7000(including labor), you can have a full NA build-up that will give you about 280 rwhp. For $1000 more you can have the HKS blower that will give you about 310-320rwhp. And unlike the NA mods, it won't hurt your idle or lower rpm power delivery, and it won't be too loud.

If what you want is big hp, this is not the kit for you. It is a kit to build a reliable, faster, street car. For big hp go TT, but build the motor, add all the ancillary heat management devices, spend some serious time on the dyno, and be prepared to spend well over $10,000. For a true bolt on system, this is as good as it gets and for what you are really getting, the price is very much in line with other stuff. I'm ordering mine this week. Probably tomorrow as a matter of fact from Z1!!!!

Maybe some people will try to beef up the HKS SC.

This is exactly what you shouldn't do with the HKS system. It is designed to work very well as is. try to coax more out of it and you'll run into heat management issues, overload on the engine internals and the same problems as other higher power kits. Even with the HKS kit, I plan on getting colder plugs, a high capacity oil pan, and a Nismo low temp thermostat to help with heat management.

so no one has tried to push the boost with this kit? Man, I'll tell you guys, it's getting harder and harder to choose a kit with so many coming out. Even turbonetics is coming out with a single setup.

As far as I am concerned.....

Stillen is the best choice thus far with the warranty and all. However the hood is way too ugly.

ATi had the ***** to be the first one out, but they also suffer from most reported detonation incidents.

Vortch, more reliable than Procharger and makes very good power. Unfortunately it also sounds like a electric blender that's audible from 100 yards away.

So far the HKS looks VERY GOOD indeed, but we need some sound clips, video clips and dyno charts to compare this unit to others. Also, the price is ridiculously high. I suppose the HKS sticker on the fender would be worth it though. ; )

So does anyone have (or the ability to get some) dyno charts or video clips of the HKS kit?
