Generally, an oil cooler is only needed if you road race your car. They do work very well. I've experienced temp drops of 60' and more when installing a cooler

Default Does oil cooler help FI ?

I was wondering about the benifits of an oil cooler also. I'm going FI soon with the APS kit. I've been considering an oil cooler and other mods to make my car as durable, reliable and protected against the added strain of FI.

before doing one its probably best to see exactly how hot the oil is getting...cooler oil is not necessarily better, it needs to be at a proper temp (slightly hotter than water)
