Default Needs new rings

l've been viewing here for a while, but never posted before...
I have imported a V35 skyline (G35 coupe) into the UK, one of about 10 here. From new i'ts always used oil. I had a pro-charger fitted at 6k and oil cosumption went off the scale (10 litres in 6k miles) Compression on one cylinder is down to 160psi so I figure my rings are fried. Having done all the searches it seems the conencus is that std internals are ok upto 400whp(?) so my intention is to fit a J&S unit and a metal head gasket whilst the engine is down, and not much else. Where can I source the gasket?
Secondly when the engine is rebuilt I plan on breaking it in with the pro-charger in situ but not driven... any suggestions on temporary induction set up's.
A bit more background for you. Once the Pro-charger was fitted the engine developed a ticking noise.. like tappets knocking, but performance and reiabilty didn't seem to be affected.. do you think an injector might have been sticking causeng a lean condition in one of the cylinders?
Any other advice, with out going off at a tangent, would be more than welcome... no one in the UK has a clue about the G35 let alone FI upgrades.

I think Z-1 performance was having some headgaskets made.....they would be the ones to check with on this board.
There have been a few guys on the board who have had oil consumption issues....especially with the superchargers.......they seem to blow the rings out quicker than the turbo's.
J & S is an effective method of timing control....there are several on this board who have had success with them and continue to use them on this board.....especially with the ATI.
The noise you hear with the intake is just the noise coming back up through the plenum.....normal with many CAI's.
You could probably just use a shortram CAI or modified factory intake while you are breaking in you're new motor.

There were quite a few questions in there...so lemme throw a few more!

If you are having oil consumption issues, you'll need to rebuild your motor..not just change the head gasket. Since you are F/I, you're best bet would be to move to forged pistons and rods, and slightly lower compression. SGP Racing and others have been using the stock head gasket on both the 300zx and 350Z, and have run their cars at 550-750whp without any issues so far.

There are quote a few threads on this and other related topics. Try to spend some time doing some research, and checking around. Good luck!
