I'm just curious, but the Y axis on that graph is labeled "relative metal temperature". Relative to what?

A turbo timer is $75....the cost is negligable.

I fully agree a water cooled turbo is better for a street car than a straight oil cooled unit.

However, that chart is out to lunch. The oil never goes below oil coking temp range for over thirty mins if you extend the chart out that far. If that was the case oil cooled turbos would fail in less than six months every time.

Peter, I have argeed with most of what you post here but this chart is completely propaganda. Is the coking value (temp) for mineral or synthetic oil?

I have attached a pic of the curve published in Maximum boost by Corky Bell. I have confirmed these figures with in 10% on my car by using a optical pyrometer. I find the CRHA drops below 300 degrees within 20 mins after shut down from a min 30 sec idle.

I got my point across. But in any case, I'm eagerly awaiting for this kit's street performance.

$75/($9K-10K) = < 1%, I'd have to agree. The graph suggests that it's useless, however.
