I see some people have tuned their timing via rpm. For example i read a thread way back,(booger's i think) that he was pulling one degree of timing every 500 rpm cell starting at 4000 rpm. Talking to mark at split sec he said start taking 1 degree out at 3 psi 1.5 at 3.5 2 at 4 etc. For a total of 6.5 degrees at 8.5 psi. Which way is better? TIA
Did Mark say why he goes with the boost route over the rpm route?
Currently, I change timing based on rpm. I'll post a couple of different maps when I get home. It appears that most have a number between 5 and 7 in the 6500rpm cell.

I had mine via rpm....then changed it to boost . Doing it with boost allows you to do it more gradually,......you have more cells to work with .DO not go less than 6.5 degree's at 8 psi....I tried and I,m rebuilding the motor.....Bill
It adds to the ECU . From what I understand [ correct me if Im wrong...I want to know ] The factory ECU has 23 degree's of advance and pulls 2 degree's after 6,000rpm .The SS piggyback pulls timing out only and adds to the 2 degree .
I'm actually a fan of the stock vortech map. It pulls 6 degrees from 6100-6600, then 10 from 6600-7100, I believe. I don't care about power after 6600. 6600 is our redline, and especially with boost, I think you need to play it safe up there.
