Like i said, i also have a Z, and it's a cow, the civic's powerr is sooo much better to drive in. All Z's need forced induction to feel like they're moving. Don't try and lie about the Z's power, it's just not there. THEY ALL NEED FORCED INDUCTION. Like i said, while im running with bikes in my civic, it's fun, the Z can't hang with alot of cars, it's sad, but true. Don't get me wrong, the Z is a great car. It has wonderful styling, handling, looks, etc......... but the power is just lacking a bit. When i bought the car it was ok, but now im used to the power, or, ummm, lack of power. I'm definitely gonna slap some kind of forced induction on it.

1. Running 12s on drag radials is NOT impressive in anything short of a Radio Flyer wagon.
2. An LT1 Camaro (or 5.0 Mustang) on the hose and street tires will eat your civic alive, for about 25% of the price.
3. A stock Miata with my girlfriend at the wheel (read: driver with no formal training) would absolutely waste your Civic on a road course.

Not to mention that street racing is for morons, but that's another story.

 

Did I miss something? Last time I checked stock civic's are an even worse cow than a stock Z. Show me a stock civic that can hang with a stock Z please.

My 97 Eclipse GST can eat your civic, and looks better than a civic. Too bad I sold it. Sigh. otherwise we can have a race.

However, straight line doesn't defined a car is fast or not. Overall performance is what's important. Drag does not equal to fast. Just like driving around circle (like Nascar) is not a real race.

Also Civics don't always require FI to be fast. Quite a few Civics are moderatly fast NA. Either way comparing a stock car to a modded car is pretty stupid. And I would love to see any Civic thats remotly reliable in the 12s. Reliability is inversly related to power (same goes to MPG).

you guys are amazing. Z's are slow. Admit it !!! I own one. I know how slow it is . I drive it everyday. Like i said, the car is cool, but it's not the best thing since sliced bread. My civic is my "clown car". I make people look like clowns when i beat them. You guys need to respect the "CIVIC" because it owns the Z, badly. I still havn't seen any video's of your Z's. My civic is basically a NINJA with a shell.

90% of you guys will never Force feed your Z, so you'll never know the feeling I'm talking about, the feeling of G forces pushing you back in your seat as you blip the throttle. I was planning on force feeding my Z, but now that i see the motor is weak, i just might not do it.

BTW, my civic has a stock block and still pulls down low 12's !!!

 

^To play Devil's advocate, the Z's linear powerband makes it feel a bit slower than it is. For example a stock Celica GTS pushes far more G's than the Z, since it doesn't make any real power till 6k+ (for only about 2k rpm). The GTS pulls hard as hell when its in lift, while the Z pulls throughout the whole power band. Also the Z is slower than the 300zxTT (in linear acceleration).

Either way my 3 cylinder Geo with grounding wires, and polished cam cover will destroy everyone...in reverse.
