Default Ati Gauge Pod For Steering Column

THIS POD SUCKS! I have an AEM wideband O2 it doesn't fit! I also have the DEFI boost gauge and it barely fits.(i have to take off the cover off that marks the boost) Had to mod the gauges just to get them in the pod.(cut off the posts) Just to find out that i couldn't steer out of my drive way. $149 plus shipping! Not happy. The bottom off our steering wheel has a raised edge so it hits the gauges!Wooooow

Just got off the phone with Paul from Avalon Racing. First off we didn't get any directions with the pod. He told us to e-mail him with our problems. So i will keep you guys posted.

Default gauge pod

Jayson-
Did you ever get the steering column gauge pod to fit to your satisfaction? If so, did you take any pics?

Thanks,

Bruce

No pic's! but the gauges that i used was AEM wideband 02 and boost. On the bottom of your steering wheel is a nipple the nipple would hit the gauges. The result was you couldn't turn your steering wheel! The gauge pod it self didn't match my dash it was off. For fitment the pod didn't seal with the lower plastic piece. Plus the gauges blocked your view. Over all in my opinion a ppor product.
Paul from Avalon racing was nice and very helpful with my return! It's hard to find a company that is repitable!

Jayson-
Thanks for the response. I notice Paul doesn't have that product on his website, so it must not have been an "isolated problem".
I guess I'll use the mounting plate for two gauges in the NAV cubby.

Thanks,
Bruce

I met these guys at IAS and they seemed very professional. I've been talking to them ever since so I may be a bit biased. They had a few pre-production items sent to dealers which may have "accidentally" been sold. I just talked to them again and the production pieces JUST arrived last week so I think the one's out there weren't legit or the production pieces.

Anyway, the pod was used in Mackin' Industries 350Z at SEMA and I called them to get the scoop. They said the fitment was excellent so I believe they made the adjustments they needed to.

Call the manufacturer directly. They've been very professional with me but you can find out for yourselves. I'll be ordering mine this week so I can tell you more after my install.

good luck!

moab1-
Are we still talking about the ATi Dual Gauge Pod? It's been suggested that part of the problems with the previous installs may have been because you need to drop the steering column?
Anybody care to comment?
Has anybody seen a single gauge mount for the top of the steering column? Something that wouldn't block the speedo and tach?

I ordered mine but never attepmted to install after I read this thread. Even if it did fit well the color or texture did not match the OEM plastic. I just ordered the double gauge a-pillar. I am not mechanically inclinded to do the install myself and was definately not paying the shop that is doing my sc 2 hours of work @ $80 to install the ATI pod that does not match.

It's been brought to my attention that some people have had problems with their ATI ePod installation on the 350Z. I represent the manufacturer and have researched the situation. Earlier this year, we sent 20 units to the US market for testing with our distributors. These units were not to be sold. I've recently discovered that indeed some were sold (Not all. I have the exact details). These products were not in production and were for testing purposes only, which is why the texture and color had not been treated yet. As the manufacturer, we use very high standards in our injection molding process and provide exceptional workmanship to our products.

I apologize that some of you may have purchased these "pre-production" items. Our production items were just received in the US less than 4 weeks ago and I would be happy to provide replacements parts for anyone who purchased the "pre-production" samples. I've also had discussions with my distributors and they will also be contacting the dealers that received the units to ensure they are destroyed and replaced with production pieces.

Again, my deepest apologies for the poor experience some of you may have had. I assure you that less than 20 units were made public and I hope some of you would be willing to give us another chance to win your business.

Many kind regards,
ATI

Default Pod fitment ATI-ePOD

I sad to report that my gauges do not fit properly in the e-pod.
I am trying to install Autometers NEXUS gauges. The depth is a 1/4
of a inch to short and the butt of the gauge hits the backwall
of the gauge pod prior to completing fitment. Are there specific
gauges which should be recomended for use with this pod, or
are all 52mm gauges applicable? I've even tried test fitting the pro-comp
ultra-lite series gauges and still no luck. Get back at me cuz the shows
are coming and it be nice to premier your product in question.

I'm having a Turbonetics kit installed right now and my installer just called last night and said there was some fitment issues. I would like to know who to contact at ATI. I will try calling ATI's general phone # tomorrow. I will post my findings ASAP. My kit is finally almost done and now this.

So far not the best service. The rep who answered the phone stated I need to contact the CEO and the CEO is out of town until next week. Stay tuned.
