Hey all, been a while. My rods came in today.. Its been a while since I did anything with my engine I almost forgot... :P

Anyway, no that my whole bottom end is here, its time to call SGP and see what they can do... yay... anyone else get thier rods yet..

Unfortunatley I dont have my camera, cant find it... I can tell you the rods look a little nicer. Wider and especially sturdier looking, but im not really sure, first time doing any of this..

Anyone who can tell me, what parts of the rod should I be looking at to determine.. durability?

 

yup...mine arrived on Monday, and roughly 20 sets have shipped.


Brusch, you'll notice the rods are much thicker than the stockers. They are wider near the wrist pin (common failure point), and wider througout the length of the rod. They are also made from forged 4340 chromoly steel, rather than cast steel. So they are incredibly strong...roughly 4-5 times stronger than cast.

 

Just got my rods in today. The pistons came a couple of weeks ago. Great job on the group buy GQ. Talking to two shops here in town now to get them installed and then onto the TT. BTW GQ, any chance of getting the upgraded head studs?

 

Yeah, we finished the GB on the head/main stud kits via SGP racing. I can't remember if you order on that GB, since I cant match your screename to your real name.
