just got the profec e-01 installed and a greddy type s blow off valve
my tuner tried to up the boost and couldn't... he's gonna call greddy tomorrow and see if they can give him any solutions, he said it may be the solenoid???
any feedback or ideas as to what to do????
thanks

Just need a little more information.
Does the boost stay the same no matter the setting?
Is the boost the same if the Profec is hooked up as it is just running on the wastegate only?
Can you here the solenoid cycling (light tapping sound) under boost?
The most common problem is incorrect connection of the vacum lines.

thanks for any feedback
thanks for any feedback
i suggest u leave the boost where it is at hte 5psi level. u do not want a blown engine. Until u r ready to address the internals then stay at the stock boost level. I learned this already.
Yeh I second that.
You may be happy to know that your old block is currnetly in the shop getting new rods , pistons and CAMs.
But for those who really want to tempt fate and turn up the boost an ECU reflash , specifically for FI is recommended. Altered Atmosphere has a program fro example. FRom what I was told the OEM ECU has three basic timing maps:
a) low octane
b) base octane (used upon reset ?)
c) hi octane
So what can happen if you are tuned when the ECU is defaulted to base that on rare occasions it can bump up to the agressive c) map, if your Piggyback is not pulling enough "saftey" timing you can have detonation and potential damage may result. The reflash basically replicates b) map into the c) map location. So if the ECU desides to transiton , it will not really deviate from the base map. Note the Piggyback has no clue tha tthis map swap is occuring.

ok... my stock boost is at 2psi...yep2!!!!!!
i didnt pay almost 9k to have a 2psi twin turbo!!!
the atmosphere here in new mexico has not allowed me to get 5.6psi like at sea level(this whole topic has already been talked about in a previous thread and everyone agrred the altitude is what's limiting the stock boost setting)
so...if you can help me, anyone, w/ figuring out maybe what i'm/ the tuner..is missing, please let me know...not just advice not to up boost, because i'm not planning on overdooing it for now... and an engine rebuild is in future
thanks
