tuning shop issues
Okay guys, I dropped my car off last Wed. Now it is already Friday and going Saturday and the car is not done yet. All that needed to be done was swapping BOV's and retuning to 11.5 AF ratios. It is taking them over a week to do this. Everytime I call they say they will try to get it done by today. And I call later that day, they come up with some bs **** that my SES light wont go away and they are trying to get it off but cant. They called Greddy every single time I ask them what code it was. They tell me to call back the next day every single time. And of course this is for free since they didnt tune it right the first time.
Now, this is what I am thinking. I think they have already finished and now they are taking my car out for some runs. I am pretty sure a lot of shops do that to people's cars. So do you think they are pulling my leg and using my car for pleasure, or are they telling the truth? What can I do? its been over 9 days already and I dont have my Baby!
Help me out guys, what should I do?

Number one, go get your car. It should only take a few hours to tune a car. If they don’t know what the code means then your car does not need to be there. Find another shop and get it handled correctly. If they say the car is not drivable then get it towed with a flat bed. Just my Opinion.
I would rather my shop take my car out and run the living hell out of it to make sure everything is working right. I live 2 hours away form evolution so I dont want to get half way home and have to trun around.
Just track you milage. Most states require that a shop write down your mileage and give you a copy anyways. It sounds more like they don't know what going on.
Get the codes from the shop and post them up or pm them to me. Maybe that will gve us a clue as to what's going on.

Dude...its highly doubtful the shop is taking your car for joy-rides. I would be shocked if they put more than a handful of miles on it, just to verify the tune. Maybe they are just having difficulties tuning it...with the stock fuel system, it is nearly impossible to get a perfect tune...with just a fuel pump upgrade. Your fuel pressure will be all over the board.
To be safe, I always mentally jot down the mileage.
Just curious why you continue to take your car to this shop, when you seem to be unhappy with their operation?

Ya they had the ecu and the managed disconnected so I doubt they are driving my car. Well the emanage is blinking real fast and the SES light keeps blinking. What can be the problem? I think he needs a different map or something. but the emanage led keeps blinking real fast. Can anyone help please!

Iwould agree they are probably not out driving it. I know I actually dislike driving customer cars for more than a few miles for fear of something happening.

File a formal complaint with the Better Business Burreau that should make them "wake up". That's what I had to do with a Toyota tuner called Toysport in Gardena, CA.
I filed a complaint on a Monday and when I got home from work two days later, there were 4 appologetic messages on my voicemail. The owner was suddenly singing a different tune. Needless to say, the car was ready (and even detailed) by Thursday. There's a lot of creeeps out there. Sometimes you need to take the appropriate measures to cope with them.

There's a few issues involved in this one . . . let's start with the easiest:
1) They are not joy riding in your car . . . not because it hasn't dawned on them to do so, but the price v. benefit is way too steep. If they curbed a rim or got in an accident, they would not be happy campers.
2) Tuning your car will not bring them incrimental money into their shop. They're doing it for "free," which means that they are working on cars that will bring in cash to pay the bills and working on your car during their breaks.
3) Odds are, I hate to say this, they don't know how to tune your car. With so many little details that may have been overlooked, those guys may have accidentally blanked your emanage.
4) Greddy provides excellent service . . . if you're one of their authorized dealers. If you're not, then they'll get back to you, when they're finished answering the authorized dealer questions. I was just fortunate enough to have Kenji bend over backwards to help with my TT install. Something I highly doubt would have occurred if I had an unauthorized dealer.
5) The BBB approach works decent after the fact, but if they still have your car, it may give them an incentive to delay it more or (rarely) damage it. All too often the BBB only instigates a he said / she said pissing match. They can't enforce anything and too few consumers pay attention to who has a negative history.
Personally, I would tell the shop to have the vehicle in its basic Greddy form and take it to someone with some turbo experience. You may lose out on $200 for welding the BOV and correcting it, but $200 over 9 days doesn't amount to much. I hope things get worked out . . .

Okay...I got my car back and thanks for all the help guys. They didnt even dyno the car and my miles stayed the same. they cant tune my AF curve so I am stuck running pig rich. I guess they cant initialize the emanage or something and my MAP is blank with all 0's. I am stuck with 345WHP now and hoping I can take it to a shop that will correct my AF curve so I can get more HP.
Now one problem occurred. When they put on the diodes and the Greddy Timing harness, now my E-01 wont read my RPM. The boost is working fine, but that my RPM meter is stuck at 0. My stock RPM works its just the RPM that displays on the E-01 stays at 0. They want me to bring it back so they can take the timing harness out this Wed. Now question is, is there a way to get the RPM running again without taking out the timing harness? I made the shop put the timing harness in so in case I want to go higher boost in the future, they can retard my timing. I dont need it connected right now cause I am running at stock boost and everything else is stock. What should I do?

Your MAPS read 0, that is not good you will not be adding any fuel and be running lean, if it is at 0's then they did initialize it but just didn't reinput any numbers into the MAPS.
Man I would be really careful and find out what they did.
Here is a file that shows the wiring for the ignition harness, I think Derek or ztim came up with it, there are all kind of disclaimers along with it so use at your own risk
