Default O-ring the block for boost??

Has anyone looked at having their block o-ringed for a better headgasket seal with their engine re-builds?? Thought about it last night while I was taking my block to my machinist.

It looks like that may be a pretty difficult operation. Take a look at the second picture from this thread.

The open deck design does not offer much surface area for the O-ring to be seated too. Your machinest will know better then me, but you may endn up weakening things.

I tend to agree with ^^^

I have only seen o-ringing done on a closed deck designed.

I have seen it done on Honda blocks with open decks before. The actually cut the wire notch in the top of the bore tube. Just wanted to check to see if anyone had thought about it for the VQ.

I would not bother unless you are planning some uber high compression/boost combo
