Post Who has the longest running F/I car...?

I just wanted to take a poll of whos car has been F/I the longest with no problems. And how is your car tuned? (ie: what kind of power are you making to the wheels, A/F ratio etc) I plan on keeping the stock internals and everything so I'm wondering what people have going so far. i know GQ has had his car boosting for a LONG time with stock internals. I have ZERO doubts my car will do fine just want to see what the longest is so far.

Vortech charged and tuned to 425rwhp/350rwtq in early March. Since then 10K+ miles.

Only real issues were a couple minor belt problems early on. have changed oil twice already. Just put in fresh plugs this weekend. Still running very strong, but have not dynoed recently.

sweet!!! keep it coming guys...This will help some VQ35 F/I newbies like I am soon going to be up to date on what you guys are doing to keep your car running strong. Like I said I have COMPLETE confidence in the kit I am going to run. But as we all know its how you take care of your car after you install an F/I kit that determines how long it lasts.

Nice thread.

I put my Greddy on exactly 3 months (2200miles) after I bought the car. Since then, 7 months have past (5 months of driving...thanks to the tunnel of doom), and I've put 10,000 miles on the kit. I've been running 8-9psi pretty much the entire time. Recent comp test and plug change shown accelete (190psi'ish in all cylinders), and no evidence of detonation or piston damage.

Keep in mind, that these engines tend to let go all at once...oftentime, without any early warning indicators of a problem. My street driving style is pretty mild. I redline it maybe once a day at most...and usually granny shift at 3000rpm or so. So I dont abuse it on a daily basis.

Oh...latest dynos is just over 400 SAE corrected WHP.

Had Greddy TT since Feb 2004. Have about 8k miles on it. Had the typical problem with wastegate gasket but since it's been fixed all is well. Haven't gone back to the dyno just yet still running base settings til I have time to address the fuel system.

I think I was one of the very first to have FI. I have the ATI Procharger and it was installed August 03. I think one other member (ravaz) was before me. I have about 10K miles with no problems whatsoever.

I have the nine psi pulley now and the AAM spec. fuel solution for FI (custom billet fuel rails, 380 injectors, Walbro fuel pump and return system) I have the AAM version of the TS EC reflash for FI. My A/F is tuned nicely to 11.5 at WOT across the board.

I got roughly 350 RWHP but they only dynoed to 3rd gear. I am told that if they took it to 5th gear, I'd have a lot more.

What is interesting to me is how many guys that buy a FI kit for their Z will turn around and sell it shortly after. Can any of you explain that one to me?

Some people just have the money and can move around like that. I for one will be keeping this car till the wheels fall off.

ATI Procharger, installed Oct '03. 14K Miles.

Oil consumption issues, hopefully to be resolved with new internals.
I've replaced both belts and one pully.

Oil catchcan & J&S Safeguard are my only additions to FI
so far.
