Default Vortech owners: What all have you added on top of the SC kit?

just wondering what people have added to these kits to get more boost, more HP, more anything. from little things to biger things that you felt helped make the kit better, safer, and faster.

Thanks!

- I can get 8.5 psi boost because of my raised rev limiter from Altered Atmosphere's "technosquare" reflash.
- I also have a Crawford plenum which may or may not contribute heavily to horsepower figures under F/I but then again maybe it does.
- I also located a larger K&N air filter to the front bumper above the intercooler instead of the small one that comes with the Vortech kit.
Everything else I got was to assist in safety or reliability:
- JWT oil pan spacer for extra quart of oil.
- Wideband O2 sensor and boost gauges (this is a must!)
- Gates 93" belt. A little shorter and a little thicker than the one that comes with the Vortech
- NGK iridium plugs one step colder part.# NGK LFR6AIX-11
- I also got an "F/I" safe reflash from Altered Atmoshpere for additional safety and tuning measures.

Hope this helps!

I have heard something about how you can upgrade to a Type S blower for 250 on the Vortech kit, anyone know about this? It doesn't say anything on the website...

The different belts are a good idea since I have heard problems with the belts wearing to fast, etc...

also, on the wastegate or BOV, is it very loud or have people gotten ones to replace what came with the kit, or maybe upgraded those as well through vortech?

this is all good info, keep it coming!!

I really like your setup! Where did you get all this stuff from? Especially the boost cooler stage 2 kit.

I used to be from DFW, (dammit) now in Oklahoma, but I come back when i can for meets. Maybe we can work something out and I can check it out in person and give me a ride....

Isn't the head unit in the Vortech kit the SQ-trim blower?

You can get a $15 filter that reduces noise by 50-60% from Vortech.

well, I don't want to make it quieter... I used to have a TT and loved how loud the BOV was, but I don't know how that would compare to the Vortech since it is SC...?

Think you mean Greddy Type-S blow off valve. It is my favorite sounding BOV, and you can get it from anywhere. I don't know if it is the same bolt pattern as the Vortech BOV.
