What would be the best flywheel to match up the 1100kg ATS triple soft?

It comes with an integral Flywheel already. This is pretty much the norm for dub and triple carbon clutches.

No but if you do a search for "ATS" you will see at least 3 board memebers that have this clutch. Ive PMed 2 of them and according to all their testimonies, they still love it for being a soft and easy performance clutch.

If everything goes smooth, i'll be breaking in the clutch and motor on 1 psi of boost in 3 weeks.

If the price is right , I might bite.

Sounds like the most prevalent choice so far is the 1350kg , twin.
Seems like the extra cost of the triple turns some off.

I agree...we can probably do any combination of discs and plates.

G3, what would be the drawback of going with the triple carbon discs, but the lighter pressure plate?

GQ- I went with the triple carbon and the lighter plate because it's easier to slip the clutch for normal driving.. Yasou the guy at ATS will work out a great price for you guys with multiple buyers... He took care of me because I was one of the first to have it....

That's news to me , I thought they only offered a basic Fywhel and a "heavier" one. I'd definately go with a lighter fly and triple "soft" @ 1100kg if given the choice. Given the ability to slip more easily would seem to offset the "easy to stall " properties of a lighter fly. Grabby clutches (ie. pucks, Cera-metalic and the like) and light flywheels in combination to be very street conducive.

My ultimate goal is for a long lasting as OEM-like as possible clutch and fly that wieghs the least and can relaibly holld 800crank.

Basically if I turn down my boost , and my wife drives the car , she wouldn't notice a diff over stock.

So Ellas did you also go with the "soft" type carbon and the 1100kg clamp?

How much rattle and chatter is there?

I think this is the route that I will go. Triple carbon disc, and ligher 1100kg pressure plate.

Just as an FYI, this entire assembly, including the flywheel, is roughly half the weight of stock. Amazing.

I already have the tilton dual cera metallic setup and was considering switching to the dual carbon/carbon setup. Jason at Performance said that with a triple carbon that you would have to adjust the clutch every so often. Is that true with any dual and triple clutches or just the tilton?

No the adjustment proceedure (a PITA) for the Tilton is specific to an "ultra light carbon rally clutch of it's type. The ATS and RPS carbons don't require adjustment beyond the main install and break-in, similar to most other generic clutches. I have explicitly asked both companies about this point.

G3- I did get the 1100kg I felt the 1350kg and it is very stiff so I didn't like it for normal driving...
I'm not going to lie guys there is alot of chatter when the cars at idle that's the only thing I don't like about the clutch but It's a small price to pay for the horsepower we're all going after and a street clutch that feels like stock to handle it!!!

Yup...I forget to mention that as well. By "stock engagement and feel:, I am refering to the feel of the clutch pedal, and the way the lutch engages and disenges under power.

But you are correct, the clutch will make some noise at idle...becuase the carbon discs are mounted on floating hubs. This noises are definately a minor drawback, when you consider the fel and power of the clutch.

Thanx , in addtiona ot the 1100kg option did you get the standard disks or the special "soft version"??.

The "std" disks are good to 1200bhp
and the "soft" disks are reduced to 800bhp.

I was told by ATS that the new "soft type" is even smoother and makes less "chatter", even more civil for street use..
800bhp is the most many of us (even with built long blocks) could ever intend to see.

Thanx

The triple 1100kg "soft type" is definately the ultimate setup!
