Question G's with Brembos

I've seen some G's with factory Brembo brakes. How do you get them, and is there a package for the 05's that has them?

The '03 and '04 6MTs came from the factory with Brembos. The brembos are no longer an option for the '05 model year.

From time, on this forum, they are people with "G" 6MT and "Z" Track models selling their Brembos (Rotors and Calipers) for somewhere around $2k. They are a bolt in deal and are a great upgrade for a "G" or "Z" without them. IMO, Infiniti made a big mistake by discontinuing them for the '05 model year. The '05 Track and the 35th Anniversary "Z" models still have them.

I agree that dropping the brembo option was one of the biggest mistakes infinity has made!!!

I didn't know Infinity offered Brembos with their speakers??! :-)

Infiniti did offer Brembos on their G35 6MT coupes in '03 and '04. I'm glad I didn't wait until '05...

Are stop tech really supposed to be better on the track than the Brembos pearl type sh? I would only imagine that Brembos are pretty mucht eh best you can buy. Seeing as though Ferrari and MB use them on their cars. Just curious

i'm glad they stopped them because i already got mine!! hahaha... way to go infiniti!!! now i'm wondering if 03-04's have stronger resale than 05's because alot of people are paying under sticker for 05's, and dealers are charging the same for a new 04 and a 05 with the same MSRP?

if you want the Brembos that Ferrari uses on the track (specially in F1) you need to sell your G to buy one rotor + caliper.... only 3 more to go

No but i mean the technology is the same, they both use Brembo's patent technology, so wouldnt you want to stay with that company. Unless stoptech is proven to be better, i dont know.

Stop Tech is cheaper and offers pretty much the same if not better performance since it's a domestic company. Unless he's upgrading to 6 piston front and 4 back, I don't see why there is need to swap the Brembo for StopTech.

Yup, no Brembos in 05, BIG reason why I went with an 04.

I'm going to sell mine some day and get 14" stoptech. What should I ask for mine when I do decide to sell them?

For everyone who has the Brembos, how long did you go before changing the pads and rotors?

Its very easy to inspect the pads and I would start at about 15k and check them every 5k or so. I changed my fronts at 30k and they had a little life left but not much. I just changed my rears out at 35k - probably could have gotten another 10k out of them. I just performed a basic visual inspection on my rotors and didn't see anything unusual. No significant grooving although it probably wouldn't hurt to have them looked at by a competent shop and possibly resurfaced.

Where did you buy the replacement pads? Online or at the dealer? Would it be expensive for the dealer to change them?

I'm going to upgrade to Stoptech and give mine to some 240 kid for a good price. i heard 05 stop better than 03-04 brembo. and i think they are trying to make the car at a cheaper cost to them by not having the brakes IMO.
