Default New tires = slip light

So I got some nitto 555r's because the pilot sports were bald...but now while making turns i used to make with bald tires, the slip light keeps coming on and it keeps braking hard in the turn while making a weird noise in the back. Please tell me it's something other than the tires. I mean my bald pilot sports didn't even do this. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

What size did you get? Did you change from OEM?

They're the same size...just nitto 555r's instead of pilot sports...

New tires need some time to be broken in. Your grip should increase to what is normal for the tire you've bought (I'm assuming you've gotten the same sized tires, or wider).

That being said, the stock Pilots are great tires (when it's dry) and possibly the Nitto's won't handle as well as the Pilots (I've never owned Nitto's so I'm not sure what you can expect from that particular line of Nitto's).

Yes they are the same exact size....they're just the rear's (245/45/18). I'll give it some time then...I need these tires to keep my safe for at least a month .

The Nittos are extreme summer tires. What is the temp where you are? That could make a big difference too along with letting them break in.

It's been pretty hot around here the past few days...like in the high 70's/low 80's....I just checked the psi and it was at over 44 psi each tire....so I lowered it down to 35 (what is recommended on the door)....I haven't tried driving it yet though.

Yoikes....44 psi could have reduced your tire's footprint enough to kick off the VDC. Let us know how it turns out at 35 psi.

I have the NItto 555's with no problems like slipping . Stupid ? but.....did you recheck the lug nuts to make sure they are tight ?

so deflating the tires helped a bit but still...I was taking a turn off the fwy going about 60-70 and the slip light came on and pumped the brakes. I'm hoping it's just the nitto tires being inferior to the Pilot Sports. Is there a chance they could have screwed up something while taking off the rims and puttin them back on? I ordered my 19" Maya's today so I'm hoping I won't have this problem with the Potenza SO-3's...I hate taking my car to the dealer.
