Mustang dynos give higher numbers. You need to get that thing on a dynojet.

I am disappointed in the stock performance of the G35. The car really
needs a V8 to be competitive in todays market.280-298hp just does not cut
it, when you have other cars like the Mustang GT and GTO putting out 300
and 400hp respectively.

Those cars should not be compared to the G35 though, as they are in totally different market segments. Yes, they have more horsepower but they are severely lacking in other areas. I really doubt too many people are cross-shopping a GTO and a G35. A better comparison is with similar and competing models from Acura, BWM, Audi, etc. Show me a car from any of those manufacturers that is close to 300 HP for $35,000.

I was in the market for a GTO when I bought my G35! I just could not stand the looks of the GTO. The fact is that the G35 is underpowered. Automakers have and are going back to V8 powered rear wheel drive cars. The main problem with the G35 is the lack of torque. That is why I have my G35 for sale and I am buying another V8 car-Corvette, and getting a cheap 4 door to drive every day.

i have an 03 g35 6 spd, recently dynoed at 251hp 238tq on a dynojet, with injen intake, kinetix plenum and test pipes, nismo exhaust all extended to fit my car, U/R crank pulley and i hope to god i get into the mid 13 second 1/4 area. i have no problem taking out many other cars all in which are in this speed area so i dont think i would have a problem but i def have noticed much better times in Zs. It is a lot to do with different crowd owning the vehicles....

Keep in mind most G owners aren't mod-crazed enthusiasts that the Z owners are.

Not putting down anyones taste, but the GTO looks like a beefy grand am IMO

Just spend $5000-$6000 on s/c or single turbo and you have the power you want.

Many factors involved when racing including driver skill, weather, weight etc. Practice and some ideal weather should net you 13's imho!

Good Luck!
