In the US domestic market, 350Z is a 350Z. It is not a Fairlady Z.

In the US domestic market, the G35 is a G35. It is not a Skyline. If the bet specified whether the G35 is called a Skyline anywhere else in the world, that's a different matter.

G35 owners can want their cars to be "Skylines" all they want but, it doesn't change the fact that in America, it's a G35.

Your G35 is a G35. Deal with it.

Mark, no one is saying G35s are ugly, slow or otherwise a bad car. They're sweet cars and I'd consider buying one if I was in the market for a 4 seater.

So, without any bitterness, I'll say it again, your G35 is a G35.

I see Anakin.... don't let the Supreme Chancellor cloud your judgment

So essentially, you are saying that the current G35 (USDM) and the current Skyline (JDM) ARE NOT the same car, correct??? Just need to clarify where you stand....

Well, you never know; One day you just might end up getting a G35 (aka Skyline)......

If you're ever in The O.C./So Cal, maybe I'll see you on the streets....

Ja Matte Ne.....

No, I'm not saying that they are not the same cars. I'm saying that the G35 for our domestic market is a G35.

As for seeing me on the streets, you're invited to a meet: https://my350z.com/forum/southern-california/124484-escape-to-santa-barbara-cruise-in-june-2005-a.html

If a G35 is a Skyline then:

-a Pontiac Trans Am is a Chevrolet Camaro Z28
-a mid 90's Thunderbird is a mid 90's Mercury Cougar
-a Lexus ES300 is a Toyota Camry

These cars are all almost the same, except for very minor differences here and there, and different names. If anything, the G35 and Skyline are functionally more different than these other cars due to the different engine options, and right hand drive vs left hand drive, plus the speed limiter and the units of measure for speed(MPH vs KM/H) on the speedo.

The facts for deliberation are all here in this thread... it's up to the kid who asked the question, and his brother to determine what the basis for comparison is in order to settle their bet.

The difference is that they have identical body lines/chassis except for RHD, LHD.

G35 = Skyline (not GTR)

Same car, different place, different name.

couldn't have put it any worse then your "explanation"...

350Z = Fairlady
G35 = SKYLINE

Plain and simple, if you want to nitpick then you are just
bitter.
Get a life.

Wow...one whole post and already an attitude on the forums. Your post is not only uninformative, it's inflamatory and useless. Please feel free not to grace us with any more of these. When the person you quoted said "These cars" he wasn't talking about the Z and the G35, he was talking about the G35 and the Skyline. If you weren't so busy trying to be a tough guy and had actually read the thread, you'd have known that.

Someone asked a question, we're answering it with helpful factual information about the subject at hand. If you can't make a constructive contribution to the topic without insulting people for no reason whatsoever, or the self control to sit back and just read the thread without trying to start a fight on your very first post... tell me, who's the bitter one?

Welcome to the site, or maybe not.

Step back to the first page of this thread, and you'll see that I personally already answered that question.

If you have some proof, please show us a link to it.

I'm not saying you're lying, but I posted a link on the first page of this thread to a site where it says otherwise.

well if you read more closely in your own link, you would see the 2.5 liter options are for the Skyline Sedan only.

The skyline coupe in japan and G35 coupe in US, has identical 3.5 liter VQ35DE.

Check the Engine option for both the Skyline Coupe(CPV35) and Skyline Sedan(V35) for yourself;

Skyline Sedan Data

Skyline Coupe Data
