Default Thinking about Trading G for M3

I got an offer from the dealership this weekend..

they would take trade in

the would give me 28k for my 2004 g35 16k miles 6sp value
for a 2002 m3 coupe 35k miles for 38k..

the m is flawless..

whats you guys opinions?

If you want it, then do it. Depends on if the extra $10k is worth it for you.

is it an smg. if so that is a good price. just keep in mind that although the m3 is very nice, the gear shifts are very rough. if i were you , i would stick with the g. i wish g35s had paddle shifters.

Do it!!! M3 is way nicer than G35. But I don't think your getting a good deal on the 02. Your better off finding a used one elsewhere. Heck you can get 04's for about $42k. with less miles.

New model will probably cost > $50k for the base model. With options, that's twice what he'd get for trade in value of his G35. I think the reason he was looking at the used model was because it was something within his price range.

The car is on this site. http://www.musiccitymotorsports.net/

Very reputable dealership.

The conversation was he would give me whole sale for my car and whole sale for the m3.

We sat there a little bit and price shopped to see what the average is on both cars. I've searched for m3s but I dont see anything below 40k with that low miles unless its ebay.. not to confident about ebay. But then again i've never bought anything off ebay.

but i appreciate the feed back, it is around my budget.. The driving experience is awesome on it. Dont get me wrong I love the G. But its no comparison to the M in performance.

you guys have experiences with the Bmw?

Just buy yourself a turbonetics kit and whoop m3 **** all day. Avalon Racing is selling a turbonetics kit for $4300. the install is around $800. Look in the vendor section.

Just my opinion, but take the $10K you would put toward the M and put it on the G. You will have a newer, faster, non-stock, car.

stick with the G...there's no other car like it in styling, performance and handling for the same price...plus, didn't the e46 have engine problems? My buddy, the owner of GTech, blew his M3 motor while running a quarter mile...when I asked him how bummed he was he said he was expecting it cuz BMW had a TSB out on blown motors.

that sounds like a good deal. i'd do it.

i'm looking for a early E46 M3 too; it's hard to find a flawless one around high $30Ks in hawaii.
