Yea you did....You got a car that handles better stock....is a lot slower stock but put some money into it and you will be faster than the zo6..It's a personal decison.. I've drove both cars I almost bought a zo6 they are fun..but I chose a Z and now I have a turbo and I'll eat a zo6 on the straights and the turns... Welcome...

eh the Z06 is a better car and ultimately has more potential than the Z

90% of the people on the general topic forum will say the Z is better.

I personally don't like vettes as much as the Z when it actually comes to driving. I think the C5 isn't as good at handling as the Z, nor does it look as nice IMO.

adding a turbo to the Z will make the Z handle worse than stock being that it now has 100 lbs of extra weight up front. There is this HUGE assumption that Z's with turbos actually can get traction. It's pretty hard when you have really aggressive gearing like the Z has and don't have the transmission mounted in the rear of the car...

not a bad choice. you couldn't go wrong either way.

i was thinking about trading my Z in for a 02 Z06 the other day but then i figured i'd take an 02 E46 M3 over both.

if you wanted power and handling you made a bad choice. z06 is a fun car and can make serious power. If you wanted power and comfort and all the good stuff then a M3 is great! Z is fun car but will take more money to make it go fast.. but then again it is still pretty quick and has beter quality then the z06.

Bad choice. It's a trade down. Less power, less performance, less fun, less exciting, less...
Why did you do it?

seriously? these cars are not even close in performance. I mean I love the look of a Z but a Z06 will smoke it in so many ways. Even with money, allot of money into a Z it's still not going to be faster than a Z06. Don't belive me? Take your Z to the track and you will see the limitations. I guess it just depends on what you were after.

My Z is on the way out, making room for a new C6 Vette.

It all depends on where you are in life I suppose. My G is more corporate than my Supra so here I am...

Dayum, for an 03? If it was older I understand but 02 and up were great cars with better reliability. My budget wasn't in range for an 03 z06 which I really wanted at the time of my Z purchase. Anyways, I believe the only thing you will miss about the z06 is the raw power.

Why would you ask us if you made a good choice? You can't feel the vast difference between the two cars yourself?

I smell BS.

I concur. Here's your missile key captain.

I know why I sold my Supra and if it wasn't a better choice for me at this point in my life, I never would have done it. Who gets another car and say he/she did it because it was the worse thing to do?????

No - not kidding...I sold the z06 because I wanted something more updated...I like the look, interior as well as exterior much better than the vette...in all honesty...the 350 handles better than the z06 did....now power is a diff't story, but I am content for now with what the z has to offer me....

My two cents; I never fit into the vette - felt too high and didn't like the outward view. Seating and ergos just didn't work for me. The Z on the otherhand is a great fit (I like the high belt line). I've got long arms/legs. This is one of the few sports cars (coupe Z, not the convertible) that I haven't had to put the seat to the farthest back stop.

I think you get more of a performance car with the Z06. The new Z06 will probably solve those erog problems for me, however, the price will probably be too far north for me to afford........

There is no FACT of what people say in these threads. It all depends on the person's taste PERIOD. No 2 people are alike.

My 2 cents....I wouldn't give up my Z straight up for a zo6 vette. Good choice man!

Z06 is 10x better than the 350z...higher class IMO. just look at the pix at below and you'll make your mind straight.

here is the 350:
