Default Combat low end loss from Injen?

I know that this could be "in my head" but doing some research tells me I am not the only one experiencing this.

I have an 05' G35 Sedan 5AT and I put the Injen CAI on last week. If I am just running down the highway and stomp on the gas, I can hear and feel the Injen move my car a little better than it did stock.

However ...

I think I've lost quite a bit of low end. If I stomp on the gas from a stand still I am noticing some loss in power compared to the stock air box setup.

Are there any ways to combat this? Will the Motodyne spacer help pick up the slack?

I don't spend much time over 80 m.p.h so I would rather have my low end pickup back.

if you lose some low end, try getting a set of lighter pullies. They will restore low end tq that you lose from other mods.

Sorry i don't have a g35 or 350z so i do not know what ones are out there for these cars.

I'm sure unorthodox racing makes some though.

I don't know a whole lot about pulleys and what not but what I have read on a few sites is that I have to change belt types?

Any suggestions from Z/G owners here?

Your question is applicable to both the G35 and 350Z. Any intake or exhaust modification will alter the torque curve: sometimes to your liking, and sometimes not. And the next modification will alter it again. Trying to guess what the commutative results might be is just that: a guess. Most drivers are interested in peak hp. How do you get the low end torque back? Custom programming the ECU may work.

another thing. most, and i say most, cat-back exhausts will not lose much low end tq. for example: the Nismo exhaust does not lose any noticable low end power, but the gains across the band are a bit less than some other models.

now true dual exhausts will make the most high end power due to their free flow design...however they will lose some down low.

same thing with headers. IIRC, the XERD headers lose some down low but make alot of HP up top.....but barely any torque.

again its all in the design. do some research on here...find out peoples reviews of products and pick and choose if you want....nothing is "the best"

You can add an H pipe to it, should bring a little low end back. It also quits it down, ie less drone and prety much no drone on the highway.
