What's the best clutch for Greddy TT setup?
I just dropped off my car at Altered Atmosphere in MD for a full round of forced induction goodies (See signature...). The next upgrade slotted is the clutch. I'm looking at other mods, but have a clear direction on those.
Back to the clutch...
I'm thinking about going with a Exedy hyper carbon single plate. It's not the ATS twin, but it's a lot less too. Considering that my goals are to hit 500rwhp and not much more, I think it'll be fine. The Exedy is also a clutch / flywheel combo, so it takes care of that department.
Any thoughts? Recommendations? Anyone running this?
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the club man. Looks like you got a good buildup going there.
Congrats.
I've got the ATS twin disk setup. It chatters but sticks like no ones business.
I have heard the Tilton and clutchmaster is a good combo. I'm sure whatever you get will rock.

First thing's first - I've seen Bam's beast and it's unreal. Completely sick setup and much respect...
I've been on every site looking up this subject, and sure enough, ATS seems to be the way to go. The ATS is a true carbon opposed to the Exedy which has a carbon plates matted to a steel plate. So I'm thinking the ATS 1100kg with the heavy flywheel option. The heavier flywheel reduces some of the chatter and the 1100kg clutch is good for 700 crank hp (so I've read). The pedal feel is stated to be no stiffer than stock, so streetability is still there.
Last thing – anyone know where to buy the ATS setup for a decent price? Z-1 Performance has them for about $2090, which is fine, but I was just curious if there were any better prices out there.
Thanks.

Hey welcome to the club =). I have the Clutch Masters combo =) i like it. we almost have the same setup but the AAM ECU Flash. I gone with the Greddy BOV. Im sure whatever you get it should be nice. I have Heard good things about ATS. Good Luck ! =)
Hey guys,
The best clutch that we've seen on the 350Z and G35s are the Exedy twin carbon plate clutch kit. They are alittle on the noisy side, but they have held up the best with high horse powered cars. PM me if you need any more info.

what's a great clutch flywheel combo with a stillen stage 3....? clearly i don't have that much ponies to worry about, but i wnat it to feel a little nicer then stock and as quit as possible.....(i know limiting factor here)?
ummm, I ran it for about 5k miles on the stock with absolutely no slipping and another 5k miles on an OE replacement exedy clutch I payed 250 bucks for on ebay. 12.9 @ 109 without trying too hard.
So why the need to go out and get an expensive clutch? spend those 500 bucks on pistons or rods and just boost more. Eventually the clutch will begin to slip but mine shows no signs of it @ 364 whp.

Okay, I've taken the plunge and ordered the ATS Twin Carbon / Flywheel. I went with the 1350kg and the standard (heavier) flywheel to reduce the chatter and give me a little more head room for gains down the road.
Now it's a question of whether or not I want to swap out the LSD...
Too many choices and never enough cash. LOL.
Thanks for all the advice guys.

Once clutch choice that you may not have considered is the JWT clutch and flywheel. It's not as strong as some of these other setups, however we've seen these things take loads of abuse over the years, on various setups. MrTomcat is running a JWT clutch and flywheel combo on his car, and he's got the APS twin turbo. He runs near 11 second passes on this setup, with no troubles at all. Keeps the daily driveability, easy pedal feel, so it's easy on the leg, and less expensive than a lot of other kits out there. So they can handle quite a bit of abuse. It's not the first setup that comest to mind, but they can actually do fairly well on FI cars.
