Default upgrade to a G35

almost EVERYONE i know decides to buy a G35c after they are done with their WRX/STi or Evo. Now its obvious that they look really good and better ride quality and i'm sure that they have decent performance(stockwise) but why did u pick a G35c over acura, bmw, lexus, etc and get rid of the high perfomance machines.

So far I know: 2 people with Evo's, 2 wrx, and 1 STi guy who all went to G35c's.

the g is a lot more reliable and offers better performance than the 3 series.
on top of that it costs less.
acura and lexus arent as involving and driver oriented.
the G still manages to ride the line. at the same time, i dont think anything in its class is as tunable and responsive.

when my evo was crashed i went back to a touring Z w/nav, because it was just a better daily driver. better on gas, the ride wasnt so stiff, and i think it looks a little better then the evo.
now 4 doors and awd is a little better for daily driving but, 14-16mpg really sucks.
i drove and rx-8 didnt like it. i drove a IS300 and it was too slow. the rsx is too slow and fwd which im not a fan of anymore.
now i may be upgrading to a g35c in the near future also!

Like you said, "after they are done with their WRX/STi or Evo." mean they are older and wiser. G35 has enough power to make them smile at the same time still have that nice back seat for extra people and look much better.

2 doors, rear wheel drive, 6 speed, price, 4 seats, luxury, and decent power. Do your research and you'll see that not many cars fulfilled my requirements. The next in line was the BMW 330Ci but the cost and options didn't even come close to the G.

I find this thread very funny indeed. I currently own a 03 EVO 8 and its for sale so I can get a G. I love my EVO to death but IMO it was built to perform not to be a comfortable car. The car is absolutely amazing, I mean it responds so good to mods its un real. For those familiar with the EVO platform mine is equipped with Buschur Racing Stages 1-4. Never been dynoed but should make between 360-380 hp and 390-410 tq. All for under 5 grand!!

Ive always liked the G35, 2 years ago I wanted one but when we left the Infiniti dealer we passed the Mitsu dealer and I fell in love with the EVO and thats what I ended up coming home with. Im just ready for a more comfortable car, im not all about the power and speed factor anymore. The G35 seems to be the perfect balance between speed and comfort. Has enogh power to get you around town with ease and it as comfortable as any other car on the road.

** If anyone wants a 03 Mint condition EVO with only 7500 miles on it then e-mail me or PM me . Here are some pics : http://fastfour.net/images/Jr/Jr.php

nice evo. i had my evo for like 8 months and couldnt agree more. all i did to mine was a dp, hfc, mbc, fuel pump, intake and a turbotrix flash, and the car was amazing. it was so much fun. i barely spent like $600 on it. it was built to perform. it was an alright daily driver, but it was a little stiff after a while, and the gas mileage sucked. wasnt the most comfortable car to deliver pizza's in all day!

creepy.... i have a wrx and i've loved the G since it came out.
hahah stage2 wrx, runs 13s, traction all the time, and never get under 18mpg(personal record is 30mpg all highway). nice for a first car but now i'm [more] mature and want something nicer. g35 is still a bargain and looks so sexy. for me, its the appeal of much more luxury, reasonable power, fun to drive, bargain, and ability to run staggered wheels . . . and its a Skyline.

G35c = more bang for your buck

I have a BMW and a 350Z, and a fully loaded 2004 G35c. They all have their pros and cons. How did I end up with the cars that I did?

https://my350z.com/forum/new-owners/180368-hi-all.html

I dunno really...but being a member at the G35Driver, Bimmer and here forums....all I can say is that there are MANY more like me that either have had, have or want the same cars.

I consider:

The BMW - One of the best handling/road mannered cars I have ever driven. A perfect 50/50 weight distribution. High Quality interior. But you pay out the *** for very little.

The Z - Great bang for your buck. Faster then my BMW, Navigation, Xenon etc...plus it looks sporty as hell, and handles really nice.

The G35 - Is a combination between the BMW and the Z. Right in the middle.

Thats the only way I can describe it

I have owned in the past few years

G35 Sedan
Evo VIII
ZO6
Z Roadster
Z Coupe
G35C

And an '03 G Coupe was always my favorite for the road and track.

I got rid of all my other cars after modding everyone of them. The G35C is still my favorite and I am building it targetting 850 WHP and currently making 650 WHP and daily driving. No BS. You can't go wrong with a G35C. Regardless.

Here is a photo of the car at Willow Springs. Goodluck.

I actually sold my Z for an 03 E46 M3, and I`m seriously thinking about selling that and buying myself a new G35c.

I think everyone's hit the mark so far, but just to re-hash:

Bimmers are awesome, but under-powered and a pain in the *** to tune for the money you spend.

Z's are great, but not as comfortable and luxurious as the G.

Lexus, like BMW, doesn't offer enough performance for the money.

Acura's are front wheel drive platforms, which most serious enthusiast’s don't want to bother with.

Bottom line is that the G35c is a nice blend of comfort, style, and performance for less than $40k fully loaded. At least that's why I bought one...

Weird. I had a WRX and went to the G35c. I think its about bang for your buck with both Sport/Luxury.

I fell in love with factory tuned parts (ie STI), and can still fulfill those needs with Nismo.

I needed something a little more "professional," I guess...

I don't have a g35 but let me take a stab at some reasons...

Acura - No RWD coupe (or sedan). Also Their 4 door awd car is more expensive than the g35x.

BMW - You almost always get a better price to performance ratio on a Japanese car over a European one. i.e. 330ci starts at 40k I think.

Lexus - Their only RWD coupe is much more expensive than the g35c.

Their aren't many RWD coupes in the market and the g35c is one of the best values in terms of performance, luxury and resale value.

I'd hope so since you spent at least 20k more for it.
