Default Making a gauge pod for the dash

Hey guys, I've been working on a twin gauge pod to go in the upper pocket of the dash.

It still needs a little shaping and sanding but the basic form is done as you can see from the pics.

truplay8: Yeah that's ALOT nicer than mine but I like my compass and A/C controls up there.

I'm actually making 2 right now so I might sell one of them when I'm done.

My03g35: Yeah its fiberglass, wood and bondo.

I still have my AC controls up there. The only thing that is different is that there is three gauges up there.

so whoever made it put a piece of smoked plexiglass in there because it looks like it would cover the display?
If so, that's pretty cool

This is the first time I work with fiberglass and I'm getting alot better. Next batch is sure to be alot nicer.

I'm definitely impressed with your work! Propps to you...

Mine is ready now, I would like to see if I can use it as a mold. Do you think if I cover it in vaseline and cover with fiberglass cloth & resin that I will be able to just pull off the shape without it sticking?

You can get a mould release and wax for this kind of stuff. I use to do it for CF cycle parts. Its pretty easy to do.
