Sedan dipstick
Just bought a nice 04 sedan and was filling it up yesterday and went to check the oil. What's up with that arrangement? I noticed the little "ramp" to help guide the end back it, but that thing had some road grit on it and looked like a great way to get dirt into the engine.

the designer missed the deadline and submitted the band-aid setup as an afterthought.... the designer must never change oil themselves to notice such, and figured everyone will take their cars back to the dealer, where there are "certified nissan technicians" work, to get the oil changed...
i've run into this before with toyota truck and passenger vehicle motors too....only there, it was the placement of the filter... and the timing belt cover (required to remove crankshaft pulley just to remove cover to replace belt)... what freakin' engineers they are... don't they include the philosophy of designing for the least common denominator for ease of removing or replacement in their thought process???
