I would absoultely agree with you on the fact that FI is the best HP/$ Ratio, however it is ALOT of cash to do it safely.

The 07 Z will be even easier to hit 12's based on the impressive times posted by the new G35 Sedan. Unless it gets's too heavy. New G35 Weight=3583? Car is .6 sec faster in the quarter and 5MPH faster trap than previous G. This is from car and deriver so take it for what it is worth. Since the new Z isn't out yet and hasn't been tested we can only guess. My prediction Would be the new Z will run the quarter in roughly 13.4 secs with a trap 105 MPH.

What do you drive Skater?

Exhaust ~ $1200 (depending on the Manufacturer)
Plenum Spacer ~ $300
Headers ~ $650 (+ $400 for Header Install)
Test Pipes ~ $330
Slicks/DR's ~ $400

Thats should get you around $3300.

Slicks REALLY help on the drag strip; I was assuming these high 12 second Z's were not using DR's/Slicks, and only pure bolt-on modifications.

If you look back at my previous posts, I never said getting into the 12's was impossible, just REALLY...really hard with just bolt-ons (no DR's/Slicks). In other words, not worth it.

It would be really interesing to see a G/Z get into the 12's with only bolt-ons, no slicks/DR's. FI Z/G's can easily do that without slicks/ DR's

If someone has a 12 second 1/4 mile in mind, I'd rather save up all that money and, when possible, go FI.

Replying to your other statements, the 07 G35 sedan weights 3497 lbs according to Infiniti.com, with the 6MT & sport Models weighing ~30 lbs more (3530 lbs).

I can definately see the 07 Z 6MT/ 08 G 6MT hitting mid-13's... it would be even more interesting if the rumors became true and the 08 G35 (and possibly the 08 Z?) got the 3.7 Liter Engine; I honestly would not be surpriced since Nissan has offically patented and registed "Infiniti G37", "Infiniti FX37", and "Infiniti M37"

I guess we just have to wait and be patient... something im really not good at

Trust me, I know ALOT about G35's and 350z's.

So far, I have never seen someone with a 350z or G35 get into the 12's with the bolt-ons you stated. Ill believe it when I see proof.

Anyhow, im pretty sure we both can agree with this, there isnt a better bang for the buck (horsepower/Dollar ratio) than going FI.

Then how about adding that to additional information. Many members freely give advice about the 350Z and G35, and they do not own either.

skaterbasist, I did mean that 12's were possible N/A using slicks. Street tires require some really good driving and more N/A mods. I figure it like this, and these are my actual costs.

Pop charger $115
Test Pipes $80
Spacer $275
DR's $300-$400

I bought the Pop charger and the spacer brand new. I bought a set of used helix test pipes recently. I havent tracked it yet, but am pretty confident that with this setup I will be able to see high 12's very low 13's consitently. If that doesnt work then my nitrous should help that out.
