Double standard against G's?

No, it's not a GTR but you can look at it at any way you want to but in Japan its a Skyline. Just like the 350z is a "Fairlady Z" in Japan.
So does that mean i have a GTR then???? I have the g35x awd plus TT?
lol
people just want to show they love the whole import scene hence the use of the name of car from its origin..
showing that they have researched and are knowledgable in their interests.. because then obviously people who aren't into cars are gonna ask..
"what's fairlady? z33? why do you have a skyline badge?"
and then they can explain what it means and why they have it on their cars and feel good about themselves!

Some people feel their vehicle is more "authentic" if it is set-up exactly as it is in the car's domestic market. The "G35" badge is the US designation while "Skyline" is the domestic market badge ( remember it's a Japanese car!). These monikers are chosen according to what the company feels will make it more appealing to the intended buyers. I have a "350" Z ( Us designation), which in Japan is called "Fairlady" Z. The company felt "Fairlady" would not appeal to US buyers as much as Japanese buyers hence the car is known by "350" ( the engine displacement) in the US. Just my 2c

Skyline was started as 4-door family sedan and it has many line-ups ... it still amazes me that after tens of years of skyline's production, many people in states still think Skyline as GT-R

Its more fun when you see a G35 with a fairldy license plate.....
I don't care for the skyline emblems, but all aside I think its more unfair people can call a 240sx a silvia when they don't even share the same engine....

i dont really care i am just being difficult...
obviously there are a lot of mixed feelings about the skyline badge on the g.
but, the g has no styling cues from the past skylines that would "merit" it a new gen skyline, whereas the z is a combination of all the z's from the past.
people that dont like the skyline badge on the g prob feel that it doesn't live up to the skyline name.
skyline has to be jdm, it's not skyline in america obviously. so it cant just be substituted. but i guess i can see why it's sort of a double standard to badge the z "fairlady" and the g "skyline".
we all just wanna be cute with our emblems i guess and make people guess.

Erm, that's exactly what this is about. The fact that BOTH cars are these names over seas.
