2006 M35 Oil Consumption

i have read the 2006 3.5 engines have an oil consumption issue. I am considering a 2006 M35, how do I tell if it has the problem or should I just walk away because it's a 2006?

The easiest way would be to see the HP rating. If its 280hp like the old G35 coupe and sedan, its the 03- 05 engines, the non rev up VQ35DE.
