Default g37 coupe and g35 sedan

Ok. I'm a little confused. Infiniti came out with the new redesigned 07 g35 sedan. Now they are coming out with the g37 coupe. So does that mean they are going to come out with a g37 sedan??? or is the new sedan supposed to be the counterpart of the coupe just with A 3.5 instead of a 3.7. I'm asking because the wife wants to get the sedan but if they are going to come out with a g37 sedan along side the g37 coupe we should just Wait..

The G37 sedan is coming as a 2009 model. 2008 will feature the VQ35HR, and the mid-cycle update sees the VQ37.

wait it out man, no point in wasting your money on the old engine

either that or re-badge your g35 to a g37 when it comes out, no one looking at the car will know the difference

Meh, 30hp can be realized in the aftermarket. Plus you'll pay less for a new 07 than you will late next year for an 09.

Can you tell I bought a G35S last night.

infiniti is still testing the space of the VQ37HR motor into the sedan, which does not fit into the current engine bay

True, don't get me wrong I am not saying you did a bad thing, but like I said you can just re-badge the 5 to a 7 and no one will know the difference. Just remember to change it back when you sell the car.

thats almost like saying you have a S500 and rebadge it to a S600. just shave it all off it looks cleaner that way anyways.

True, but there is nothing wrong IMO in doing that. The S600 has almost no external features to distinguish it from the S500 other than maybe the V12 badge on the side, but you can get those too... it is the AMG models that look significantly different. Shaving it off is problematic because people will usually assume you are doing it to hide the fact that you have the lowest trim, but upbadging to a trim that looks no different is a good idea... the only people who will see through it are probably other S owners or hardcore Benz enthusiasts, but how many of those do you see around?

Bingo, for now at least. To my knowledge the 3.7 in the sedan question has not been answered. DaMayor probably knows best.

Sure, they may put the 3.7 in the sedan eventually...... But if it comes with the extra 200 lbs like in the coupe..... no thanks.

Plus, if you're thinking of waiting 2 years because "something better" may come along.... you'll never buy a car.

On a side note:

Debadge= ok, sure. If you like the clean look.

REBADGE= ricer garbage. The only people who'll notice the rebadge will also notice other differences that SHOULD be there (wheels, bodykit, exhaust, hood, or whatever other changes).

The only people who'll know that an S600 is a v12 or "better" than the S500 should also know about the other differences......

So, what's point of an "upbadge?" The only people that it might impress (people who're into cars) will be annoyed by how fake it is.

Plus, if you have an S500, be proud.... you have a nice car. No need to be a faker.

I'm just a car guy, but I notice almost EVERY rebadge, and they all annoy me.

i know if they put a 3.7L into the G sedan it'll come w/ a heftier price tag... IMO-- the 306-hp is good enough (for now)... looking into a price perspective why not get the 2.5L v6 japan has so it'll come w/ a lower price for the G seadn to get more people into an Infiniti?

The 2008 G37 (powered by VQ37VHR) is definately heavier than the 2007 G35 Sedan (powered by VQ35HR); therefore, the Sedan has about the same acceleration as the G37.

The sedan potentially seems to be a mid-to-high 13 second car. Can't really comment on the G37 since I haven't seen it in action with the exception of some reviews.

In my opinion, a 3500lb VQ35HR @ 306 hp (07 Sedan) is more appealing than a 3700lb VQ37VHR @ 330hp (08 G37).

You and I think completely differently.

the coupe has always been heavier given the trim level.
