i have a 2003 350z track right now..it only has 16k on it and iv only had minor probs.... however i was at the dealership the other night and they have a 2004 g35 coupe...... im stuck...i like the z body style better but the interior of the g35 alot better.... just wanted some input from anyone who has either owned both or testdrove a g35..... are they as good as a z???

 

I sold my Z to get a G coupe. I felt the same as you, like the outside of the Z better but liked the inside and warranty of the G better. I really like sunroofs as well and the backseats and truck are very handy. The G will feel more sluggish though IMO.

 

I like the G for the backseat....but i'm still keeping my Z. Just keep the Z.

selling the z for a g could possibly be the worst decision you have made in your life.

 

Get the G. Most everyone outside of the Z forum(s) will tell you the same.

 

Definitely do what others tell you to do. They know your likes, dislikes, finances, family size, need for speed, driving needs and what your gf or wife will like too.

You're lucky you have had the Z for comparison. I wouldn't listen to anybody that isn't personally familiar with both and would listen a lot to those that are.

I was debating between the two for the same reasons and with the same concerns. I opted for the Z and haven't regretted it, but my situation isn't the norm. I only wanted a back seat 2-3 times/year and I travel a lot and pack compactly.

People's own values vary with time and everyone's situation is different. Rent a G35c for a few days and it'll help to find your answer.

 

Get the G

 

i had an 05 G and wanted an 07 G or Z .. so i drove both 6mt's and the Z is just a tad quicker but no head room.. i feel to confined in the Z.. the G is luxurious, comfrotable fast, plenty of space and that sweet sweet sunroof..
i also personally think the G has a much nicer exterior and is a classier car.. forgive my spelling haha but go with the G.. you wont be disapiointed..

 

I drove both when purchasing. Both were 04. Both were stick. The G had the Moon Roof and Brembos. The Z was a touring with Navi leather the works except for the Brembos. After driving both I went with the Z with no regrets. My friend has a coupe and the car is very appealing and very nice inside, but its no sports car its more like a sport coupe. I dont know how to explain it but unless you drive them both hard you really wont know.

 

Something is fishy. I have a friend that is 6'8" and he said the head room in the Z is amazingly fine, but had problem with the leg room.

So we can assume you are over 6'8" and you make the assumption the OP is also? Doubtful.

Why are you asking us? Ofcourse the Z people will tell you "Get the Z... its the best car out there" "The Z is quicker" "I don't need the back seats" and my favorite one ... "r u crazy lol go for the Z!!!!!!!!!!!!" etc, etc.

And the G35 folks will respond with their own preference too.

Your best bet is to make your OWN decision based own your OWN priorities; we can choose for you if you don't mind... but why would you let anyone decide for you?

or a very nice interior but slightly slower then a Z.
G holds better value
imo G looks better from all angles.
better warranty/ dealership service.

get the G imo.

 

I had an 05 G, and went to a 07 Z. way better for me, because of the performamce, the G seats really high

you're telling me! it's like a freaking tower seat or something! feels like a SUV!

 

the problem is probably that he is really tall from waist up... meaning shorter legs but tall torso. Im 6 ft and my gf's dad is 6-1. I have so much room to spare and im very comf in the Z, but when he drove my Z he had to duck his head cause it was hitting the roof, he looked really goofy and uncomfortable lol...

the problem?? ---> he has really tall torso.

your friend i bet has really looooong legs but short torso.

 

dont get a G, just saw a altima coupe today. i thought it was a G at first. i had to double take on it.

 

I think this is more of a problem with your eyes, rather than the similarities between the Altima Coupe and the G35C.
