Not really impressed w/ the G37
so today on my way home from work, i got a chance to see the new G37 in white, and seriously IMO i really wasnt impressed much. Looking at the cars profile, the tail lights stick out in a weird way and the front grill looks like a cheap APC version Billet grill.... and it really does not have a $40-50k luxury car look. Honestly, i totally agree with the guys that say it looks like an Altima....i mean, the g35 compared to the G37 is a much better and sleeker looking car, with a Semi-luxurious, ***** under the hood car....

I like the new Altima 2-door. I'm impressed with the new G37 power, but I really wish they kept with what it was originally sketched to look like. The exhaust and motor sounds a LOT less VQ'ish too.

i just talked to my buddy who test drove the g37 and he actually was impressed, he said once again, its still top end and pulled easily to over 100 very quickly...
i actually might go check it out this weekend

I wasn't that impressed either (well, for what I am looking for in a car). It drives really nice -- but it is a luxury car thruugh and through. (of course, the fact I don't really fit in the car with a sunroof (i'm 6'2") didn't help matters either).
It is ironic that Infiniti talks about intensity in their ads, as there was nothing in that car that showed me any intensity. Bland styling (looks alright, but nothing emotional or inspiring), very quiet interior (can barely hear the exhaust), descent acceleration and cornering, but nothing intense about it.

Nissan obviously isn't catering to the younger, more sports car oriented crowd with the new G37. I bet if you asked a group of people age 45-60 which car they would trade in their lux sedan for, the G35 or G37....I bet most would prefer the G37.
