Default brake pad question for 03 G35 owners!

so i need to replace my rear brake pads because its making a rough rubbing noise when i brake and squeeks a little as im driving. i heard its easy to install the pads. thing is.. should i resurface the rotors or "turn it"?

i decided to go with the brembo pads. seems to be a good decision... not too much in difference if i buy it from the dealer as compared to getting it from everythingg35.com which means i dont have to wait for it to arrive and risk damaging my rotors since the pads are bad. will i need new shims? i was told that i need new shims because the brembo pads were redesigned and may not fit the old shims. wtf.. dealer told me that. the "shim kit" is frickin $80.

what i would do is get new rotors with the new brake pads and get hawk brake pads too there pretty inexpensive and are just as good as brembo i just got some sub zero drilled and slotted rotors and it make my ride look sweet with the brembo ,look on ebay for the hawk pads you can get a deal there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have Hawk HPS pads and Pro Slot rotors. They are an excellent combination with pretty well no brake dust to speak of. Brake feel is much more linear than stock and they last for freeken ever. Always resurface your rotors if you change pads!

Yeah like someone else said...get the Hawk Break Pads. Low dust and they seem to last forever. Also I got stillen slotted rotors and they have performed very well.

I have Axxis Ultimate ceramic pads. Best pads Ive ever driven on, much better than stock brembo pads. If you look online, these pads are top rated on many many forums and cars. Im really happy with my stoptech stage 2: slotted rotors, axxis pads, technafit SS lines for $547 picked up!

how the brake dust on the Ultimate ceramics? I've always liked the Axxis Metal Masters, but don't know anything about brake dust on the ultimates.

I've actually had squeal problems with the Ultimates on my StopTechs. I ended up switching to Axis Deluxe. And I STILL have a slight squeal! Interesting thing is the Ultimates have a shim and the Deluxe do not.

Waiting for shims for my Deluxe now to see if that solves the problem.

Ultimate have more dust than Deluxe IMO.

BTW ... this is my daily driver, so I can't seem to keep the Ultimates at operating temp, hence the switch to Deluxe.

EDIT: Sorry, just noticed you asked about 03, but I figure the question is kinda general.
