Default Running TT's on a stock G35 motor

Is this possible or do some mods need to be done to keep the engine strong? I want to add twin turbos once I get my G but I was wondering if mods were needed to the engine or not.

Thanks.

yeah, you wont be able to run it on the stock motor for long. Def. need some internals for that

No different than a Z. Unless you know nothing about neither.... then I'd say read the FI forum here.....short answer is yes you need complimentary mods.

you dont need a new tranny....you do however need some things that will support the bolt on application. you would need things like new clutch kit, bigger injectors ofcourse, bigger fuel pump, ect...but as far as modding the engine and the internals you dont have to as long as you leave the boost down. Most people go to the peak of about 400whp on about 6lbs i believe SAFELY with a stock block.

Quadcam has a Greddy TT on his stock motor with great success so far. I think he has 9psi. All you need is a Greddy TT kit with intercooler, a UTEC computer, and a clutch is a great idea.

+1 The kit will come with everything you need except engine management. Stock internals are fine unless you want more extreme power. I play quite frequently with the fun pedal, but once you go turbo, there is very little need to go to 5000 RPM. You can smoke most cars with 1/4 throttle unless you want to track it.

+1 Check the quickest spooling thread in Forced Induction for the best turbo’s for a stock motor; I think the quickest are listed as the JWT 530 kit. You can install the JWT 530 kit directly onto your car with no engine modifications; you don't even need a new clutch or engine management. Call JWT for the details or any questions, I'm pretty sure they have been running their kit on a bone stock 350z roadster for ten's of thousands of miles @ 8lbs w/ just over 400whp.

As far as Greddy and APS (or any similar I may be forgetting), not familiar, but many people will tell you they are also good kits, not sure of the modifications needed with those kits.

Good Luck, You'll love the G!

Good job, you one post know-nothing noob!

I run a JWT TT kit on my 2005 6MT G35, with no problems, including about 15 track days (road course==sustained boost for long periods, not drag strip!!!) and about 15k miles so far.

So, in answer to the original poster, yes, TT's are fine on a stock VQ35 motor. Of course, you would know this if you had bothered to do some research on either the m350Z forums or the G35driver forums.

Thanks Larry.

It's true. I have been running a Greddy TT on my car for 1 year (about 15,000 miles) and I daily drive the car. Before the Greddy, I had a TN ST for about 6 months and I had a nitrous on before that.

So, I would say that the stock motor holds up well.

My car makes approx. 400/400 to the wheels at 9 psi.

Would it be safe to put TT on a automatic? I know they make a single turbo kit for auto, but not sure about TT?

I have the greddy twins on mine and everything is working perfect but the secret is to keep the torque below 380rwt for the trans to hold up.

my greddy/SpeedForce TT setup? I don't recall..........probably somewhere in the $6000 - $6500 neighborhood. I already had injectors, return fuel system, and a UTEC though. I do all my own labor (except exhaust work) so the labor didn't cost em anything. I bought my Greddy TT kit from Performance Factory..along with all the other parts. My intercoolers and piping came directly from SpeedForce Racing.
