Default Question on Steering Wheel before buying a Z!

Hi, I went to test drive this 2004 350z Touring Ed. with 46000 mileage on it.. when I was testing. I felt the steering wheel really tight. I ask the saleman why? he said "because it's design to be sport suspension."

1. I'ts your 350z steering wheel really tight? because I owned a BMW 325i, it's handle really smooth.

Thanks for your help.

I love how meaty my steering is...I dont want to be going fast and turn the wheel a little and be making a 90 to the left or right. So to answer your question...yes.

I don't know what year Nissan started using variable power steering. Check the fluid

The Z's steering is heavier than what you might be used to. It is a combination of power steering settings and, mostly, front suspension layout.

The Z has 8 degrees caster, twice that of most road cars these days. It is desirable for handling (in turn camber) and directionnal stability (ie self centering steering).

Road feel is very good with that car. A lighter steering is better for comfort, not good for "at the limit" feedback.

Like mentioned above, the steering is a little heavier. I like the feeling, as it doesn't feel like one twitch of the wrist will send me flying off the road.
