Almost Bought a G35 Coupe But Some Problems...
I was looking at a low mileage (17k) 2004 G35 Coupe today but I went with my buddy and he pointed out some problems.
Here's the list:
-some of the engine parts looked oxidized (seller lives maybe a mile or so away from the ocean)
-left side of the car audio does not work (Bose)
-VDC off (could this mean that he beats on the car...maybe?)
-paint could use some TLC
The price is $21.5k (he was asking $24.5k) it is a 2004 blk/blk G35 with 17k miles 6MT with Premium and Aero
What do you guys think? Is this a fair price for the car which could definitely use some TLC!!

VDC is off all the time? Is it supposed to turn on each startup like the Z does? This could indicate a problem within the powertrain or something.
The audio can be brought up to the salesman, and you can ask for money off due to the audio being faulty.
The engine oxidation is normal, unless it's rust.
If the paint doesn't have any deep scratches or oxidation or clear coat peeling, etc, just be prepared to give it a good wash/polish/wax after you buy it.
I'd look around $20k.

Hey Silverstone Z thanks for the reply.
The car was already turned on when we hoped in for a test drive. We asked him about the VDC and he said we could turn in on and we did...so the VDC does turn on/off...

I bought an 04 black 6spd recently as well. The VDC always starts on, but you can turn it off with the push of a button. And my left side speakers also dont work when I have the CD player on. I'd say 21k is a good price for a low mile car like that.
Why does it have such low mileage though?? Does he have a DD? Or that could mean that it spent a lot of time in the shop.
