Default Infiniti Nismo equivalent?

Howdy folks,

I'm going through the process of doing research on a G37 coupe before going to the dealership for ordering. Want to know exactly what I want before they start trying to bullsh!t me. Right now I am debating if I want to get the base model or the G37s. I know the s is a manual tranny. Can the base have a manual as well? (I'd check the website but it has "no options avalible" on the base build your own.)

Is the S worth the extra dough? And along the same line of thinking, does Infiniti have a Nismo equivalent? If so I feel like I might be better off getting the base because if there is a nismo type factory performance tuner, I feel like I'll be ripping out a lot of the S "goodies" anyway. Thanks in advance for the assistance

IMO it is.

Got a local buddy with a G37s, and I must say, it is absolutely gorgeous.

I don't think there's an Infiniti equivalent of Nismo.

You can't get the base with manual. The s is worth the extra money because it comes with bigger brakes, bigger wheels, lsd, sport tuned suspension, different bumper, and some other stuff. If you plan on upgrading brakes, wheels, etc than the s isn't better value.

Yeah I know it's just a badge. I have no illusions about that . But in searching the interwebz I couldn't find anything about a "Nismo" G series line of products. Do they not make them or are the 350Z parts literally the nismo parts for the G35 generation cars? Thus currently no G37 generation nismo parts until the 370 Z comes out?

i was thinkin the same thing... the G37's are amazing, but it would be nice if it came with some "factory" tuning bits..

nismo makes an aero kit for both the g35 coupe and the 03-04 g35 sedans

Just go for the g37 S if the g37 is what you want. Infiniti is the luxury side of nissan which is why nismo focuses on the nissans more sportier "track" like cars like the 350z..It sounds like you should go into the dealer and talk to them about what you want and see if its possible.

Oh I know plenty about the areas I was interested in, my little **** talking friend. I never had an Infiniti, thus I've never known anything about "factory" Infiniti tuning. I went turbo, so looking into warranty saving factory tuning was never important to me. Being that Infiniti IS Nissan I was wondering if there was any cross compatibility between platforms, since this new Infiniti would be an everyday car, and so I will want reliability and factory assurance if I do anything to its performance.

I've done plenty of research in my 6 years on this forum. Most of it off line speaking to actual people instead of wading through the ever increasing amount of drivel that has leaked its way onto these boards over the years. All of this research on 350s, turbo systems, engine tuning etc... not a new G37S and it's other brand mates. I'm sorry I haven't felt the need to acquire 10,000 posts by contributing fantastic little one line posts about MMA and bewbz like yourself. So howsabout you stop cluttering the board by being a pr!ck.

Default Hello....time to chill!

Holy Crap Jergens, after reading your post I've totally lost what this post was
about....don't get your pantys in a wad. Nissan has nothing in there line up
that is the equivelent to the G37S. Had they been smart they would have
dropped the 3.7 in the Nismo 350Z when it came out....FAIL! They will have
the GT-R soon if you have $71K and want to play Nissans game about where
it can be serviced or even WASHED....another FAIL!
