Have you had
Has anyone had good dealings with GT Motorsports? If you are thinking of doing business with them DON'T. Man they are like dealing with a crooked used car salesman. They say one thing then do something else. I hope their product is better than their customer service. As I said DON'T DEAL WITH THEM. Thanks for your ear.OZ
OK, blew my motor back in March. Sent it to GT Motorsports around the first week of April and it took them over a week to tear it down and tell me what I told Sam over the phone. Told Sam over the phone the block was scrap. He said the cost would be 5700 and change plus the core charge. Told him no that the core charge was included. Should have got the hint by then but I went on. We talked and he said he would send the pictures and an invoice. But when no pictures, he said that his computer was down. Now back to the engine. But had to call several times and he said that it would ship on Friday. Friday came and went. Called on the next Tuesday and he said the hone machine was broken and it would take a bit longer. Now last week called and said the engine was done but waiting on the torque converter. He called Monday this week and said everything was done and ready to ship. He said he would call and email with the tracking number and where they were shipping it. He said that he could not ship to a residential address and had to go to the terminal to be picked up. And guess what no phone call or email. Also guess what I don’t care if I do get flamed, because this was a heads up to people not to get screwed. If want to flame me go head and buy from these guys and get the same as I got. Have fun!

You said your block was scrap, yet you don't expect to pay the core charge??? Maybe I am reading that wrong...
I'll tell you what nobody has said to you yet. GTM is one of the more respected tuners out there, a lot of people have had good experiences with them. Delays due to problems with tools and equipment, as well has waiting for parts, are unfortunate, but part of the territory when modding cars. It's also not uncommon for large, heavy parts to be shipped to non-residential address as well as the freight company can't exactly leave it on your porch if you're not home.
I'm curious to see if someone from GTM responds to this...

I think there are aLOT of facts left out here...
Mr.Ozbirn conveniently left alot of details out of his story. So let shead some lights here.
Let start with some time lines
On 04-15 08 a work order was created in our system for Mr. Ozbirm, at that point we had received an engine from him (long block) and he was interested of purchasing our basic long block .
I told him that we will perform a tear down inspection and let him know the results. The tear down inspection usually will happen within seven to ten business days .
The next conversation we had was when he called to check the status and I had informed him that the tear inspection has been completed ,the engine had suffer a catastrophic failure and it will require a core and some additional parts, and I will let him know within the next few days .
Our next conversation was on 4-25-08 , after that conversation our system was updated with a revised authorization for the additional work, some timmning components , torque converter and a valve body upgrade, the valve body upgrade and the torque convertor were shipped to us by Mr. Ozbirn separately after the engine .
To summarize the time frame it took a total of 10 days from placing the order to the complete tear down inspection .
After the engine was complete, I called Mr.Ozbirn to inform him the the engine is done and we can ship right now. At that point the torque convertor was not done, so if he wanted the free shipping that was giving to him then I will have to ship everything at the same time, he elected to wait for every thing to ship at the same time .
The core issue
When I called Mr.Ozbirn I informed him that there will be a core charge due to his unusable core. He stated that according to the web site, that the core charge was included, he also stated that if he knew that the core charge was going to be extra charge then he would had never send his engine and he was adamant that our web site did indicate the core charge was included. I did not want to argue with Mr.Ozbirn and advise him that if there was a mistake on our web site, then I will honor that.
Upon investaging the core charge set up on our shopping cart, it was very clear that Mr Osbirn misread or misunderstand our web site, because the core charge is very clear in stating that it is not included. So I decided to let go and not charge him the core charge thinking the guy got confused.
Free shipping
Mr.Ozbirn was given free shipping of his engine due to his military status (so he claimed) I even wonder now if he is even in the military.
After seeing this thread and also the thread that he started over the G35 driver last night, I was going to recall the engine back from UPS, give Mr.Ozbirn his money back and let him go some where else, since he deserve better treatment and since that we could not meet his expectations.
It gets better, Mr.Ozbirn received a phone call from UPS on Wednesday morning 5-21-08 that the engine was ready for pickat the ups terminal, he decided to come in here, start bashing us after he had received the engine.
The offer still stand full refund upon returning the engine. You don't deserve our engine and our customer service, you are entitled to something better.
